WHO’S NEWS: Commercial hires and promotions

L&L Holding Company has promoted Jim Traynor to vice president within the company’s acquisitions department.

This appointment is Traynor’s second promotion within a two-year period. Traynor will serve as project manager for 390 Madison Avenue, a midtown office tower currently undergoing re-massing and redevelopment in the Grand Central area.
Additionally, he will continue to focus on sourcing, evaluating, and acquiring new assets for L&L’s portfolio.

Since joining L&L as an asset management associate in 2013, Traynor has risen quickly through the ranks. Traynor, who has completed more than $1 billion in transactions at the firm, had previously been elevated to assistant vice president in December 2015.

Prior to L&L, Traynor was a Senior Consultant for Ernst & Young’s transaction real estate practice.

A graduate of the University of Florida, where he earned a Masters in Real Estate, he is the founder of networking organization Coffee & Capital and a member of Robinhood P.Y.T.

The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) recently elected its 2018 officers during its Spring World Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. The new officers will be installed at the outset of the SIOR Fall World Conference in Chicago in October.

SIOR’s current President-Elect, Del Markward, SIOR, Allentown, PA, will assume office as SIOR President. The current Vice President, Robert Thornburgh, SIOR, CCIM, CPM, Long Beach, CA, will become President-Elect.

Mark Duclos, SIOR, Hartford, CT, has been elected as SIOR’s Vice President. After serving a one-year term as Vice President, Duclos will serve as President-elect for a year and then step into the Presidency of SIOR in the fall of 2019.

AmTrust Title Insurance Company announced that Robert Keppler, a seasoned title industry professional with more than 41 years in the business, has joined the company as Title Reader.

Based in AmTrust Title’s Uniondale, Long Island offices, Keppler is responsible for examining abstract of title, namely the complete history of a property, which includes chain of title, judgments, liens, open mortgages, easements and agreements of record.

During Keppler’s more than four-decade career, he held most positions in the title business at one time or another.

Prior to joining AmTrust, he owned and operated Keppler Title Agency located in Elmsford, NY for 12 years. Earlier, he worked for First American in White Plains, and before that, Judicial Title, also in White Plains.

In the early 80’s he worked for title agencies in both Chicago and Los Angeles and he began his career in 1976 in the Bronx with Citadel Abstract.

Keppler earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Pace University.

CBRE Group Inc. has expanded its Retail Advisory and Transaction Group in New Jersey with the addition of Nicole Jadoo and Nicole Nannola, who will join the firm as Associates.

Jadoo and Nannola will be based out of CBRE’s Central and Northern New Jersey offices and will work to further augment CBRE’s retail advisory group.
Nannola will further expand the group’s focus on retail-oriented investment sales and development consulting.

Both Jadoo and Nannola were most recently Associates at Colliers International, where they focused on both retail tenant and landlord representation.
Earlier in her career, Nicole Jadoo served as a leasing consultant at Aimco, a residential broker at Coldwell Banker, and as an account executive at Apple Title Agency.

Jadoo received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rutgers University.
Nicole Nannola’s professional experience includes work as an executive assistant to the New Jersey managing director at Massey Knakal Realty Services and subsequently at Cushman and Wakefield upon the latter’s acquisition of Massey Knakal.
Prior to that, she founded a childcare service, which she ultimately grew to a staff of ten people.

A marketing graduate from Ramapo College of New Jersey, Nannola is a licensed real estate agent in New Jersey.

TH Real Estate has appointed two senior executives to its debt team, in newly created roles.

Mike Jameson, Managing Director based in San Francisco, is responsible for originating commercial real estate debt transactions in the western US, and Rick Dugoff, Managing Director based in New York City, is a senior portfolio manager responsible for real estate debt.

Prior to joining TH Real Estate, Mike was a Managing Director with Prudential Mortgage Capital Company.

He earned a BA in Economics from the University of California at Davis and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
Rick Dugoff has over 27 years of commercial real estate investment experience.
Prior to joining TH Real Estate, he was Managing Director and Head of Real Estate Debt at JP Morgan Asset Management.

Earlier in his career, he worked at Related Companies and Chemical Bank.
Dugoff holds a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Sky Lake Partners announced that Michael Lee has joined the firm as a Managing Director and Head of Business Development.

Lee will spearhead the firm’s capital raising and investor relations efforts.
In addition, Lee will be a registered representative with WealthForge Securities, LLC1, a Virginia-based broker-dealer with a financial technology platform that Sky Lake plans to use for private placement offerings.

Prior to joining Sky Lake, Lee held a variety of sales positions at Morgan Stanley, on both the institutional foreign exchange platform and the private wealth platform.

Originally from the United Kingdom, he graduated from the London School of Economics with a BSc degree in math and economics.

Loeb & Loeb LLP announced that Gil Feder and Evan K. Farber have joined the firm’s New York office as partners in the Litigation Department.

Feder and Farber join the firm from Reed Smith LLP, where Feder chaired the U.S. Real Estate Litigation Group.

The pair brings significant experience litigating a wide range of business matters, with a particular focus on complex commercial, partnership and joint venture disputes involving real property.

Feder received his J.D. from New York University School of Law and a B.A. from Binghamton University.

Farber received his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where he was executive managing director of the Columbia Law Review, and he subsequently clerked for Judge Alvin Hellerstein in the Southern District of New York and Judge Robert Smith of the New York Court of Appeals. He earned his B.A., with distinction, from Yale University.

Cullen and Dykman LLP announced that partner David Edelberg has been named the 119th president of the Bergen County Bar Association and will be honored at a gala on May 5.

Throughout his 34-year career, Edelberg has proven himself an expert on bankruptcy law, authoring multiple articles on Bankruptcy Code and lecturing on behalf of the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education, the Seton Hall Business School, Bergen Community College and the National Business Institute concerning bankruptcy law.

At Cullen and Dykman, Edelberg focuses primarily in the fields of Bankruptcy Law, Creditor’s Rights and Commercial Litigation.

Before joining Cullen and Dykman, Edelberg was an equity partner at Nowell Amoroso Klein Bierman, P.A.

Robert Skinner has joined INK Commercial Real Estate as Director, Investment Sales/Hospitality.

His primary responsibilities will include heading up a critical management function, which includes managing and training current agents while recruiting others.

Tapping into his Wall Street background, his ultimate goal is to reach asset, hedge and mutual fund managers.

Skinner has been a real estate salesperson since 1992 and a commercial property specialist in NYC since 2012. His concentration is on Investment/Hospitality Sales/NNN Leases with a blend of leasing office, retail and industrial spaces.
Among his most notable accomplishments was the recent sale of the Herald Square Hotel (now Life Hotel) and closing over $43 million in sales and leases.

Savills Studley announced that Aron Gunkelman has joined the company’s Industrial Services Group in Hackensack, New Jersey.

Gunkelman will serve as Assistant Director within the industrial group’s supply chain practice.

Before joining Savills Studley, Gunkelman worked for a raw commodity sourcing company, as Global Supply Chain Manager. He oversaw end-to-end operations – from emerging market sourcing in Latin America to LTL/FTL distribution in the U.S.
Earlier, he worked as a Supply Chain Analyst for a national food distributor and as an Agribusiness Advisor of Community Economic Development in Cameroon, West Africa.

Belkin Burden Wenig & Goldman announced that Krista L. Patterson Esq. has joined as an Associate in the firm’s Transactional Department.

Patterson will work with department head and partner Daniel T. Altman Esq., focusing on a wide diversity of commercial transactions ranging from all types of leasing, conveyancing, financing and joint venture agreements.

Prior to joining Belkin, Patterson was Vice-President and Associate General Counsel at New York-based Annaly Commercial Group, one of the largest mortgage REITs based in the United States holding both residential and commercial assets.

Before that, she was an Associate in the real estate department of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP for eight years.

Patterson earned a BA degree from Duke University in Durham, NC and a JD, LLM in Comparative and International law from Duke University School of Law. She was admitted to the NY bar in 2007.

Gettry Marcus CPA, P.C. announced that Mark Dolinger has joined the firm as a Principal and is based out of the firm’s Woodbury, New York headquarters.
Dolinger, CPA, is a member of the Firm’s Accounting and Audit Group. He has over 35 years of experience providing accounting and auditing, tax, and business consulting services to clients in a variety of industries.

A graduate of Queens College, Dolinger is a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Prior to joining Gettry Marcus, he was a partner at Josephson & Dolinger, CPA’S, PC.

HAP Investments announced that John Mazzeo has joined the company as Project Executive.

Mazzeo joins the firm from JDS Development Group. He has multi-tiered experience, having worked in varying capacities within the construction industry, first as a design architect, and then working his way up from field supervisor to construction manager on large scale, high profile projects.

Mazzeo will be working on HAP Seven, which is in pre-development and will be a 16-story, 241-unit residential rental building at 4452 Broadway.

Mazzeo’s experience includes working on projects such as American Copper Buildings and The Beekman.
