CBRE Group, Inc. announced that Patrick Arangio, co-leader of CBRE’s Capital Markets’ National Loan Sale Advisory Group, has been promoted to vice chairman.
A 13-year industry veteran, Arangio has participated in the advisory and placement of more than $18 billion in loan sales in his career, becoming Capital Markets’ youngest vice chairman.
He is responsible for the sale and marketing of commercial mortgage loans on the secondary markets and has been the Transaction Manager on more than 150 large loan and portfolio assignments.
Arangio graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He is a member of the Cornell Real Estate Council.

NGKF Capital Markets has welcomed self storage veterans Aaron Swerdlin, as executive managing director to lead the company’s national Self Storage Group, and Kenneth Cox, as senior managing director.
The team, which has handled more than $5 billion in self storage transactions, will work with capital markets professionals throughout the country.
A 20-year commercial real estate veteran, Aaron Swerdlin joins the NGKF Houston office from HFF, LP, where he led the firm’s self storage group for five years.
Previously, he served as a senior managing director and the managing partner at Storage Investment Advisors, LLP.
Earlier in his career, Swerdlin spent seven years as head of the self storage advisory group for CBRE.
Kenneth Cox, who is based in Memphis, Tenn., most recently was the general partner in several partnerships focused on acquiring, operating and selling self-storage assets.
Previously, he served as principal and senior vice president of Jernigan Property Group, LLC, where he oversaw real estate activities in a joint venture with Kimco Realty that acquired $70 million in self storage assets.
He began his real estate career at Storage USA, where he spent eight years in a various roles as an acquisitions, dispositions and development officer, and was involved in many high-profile transactions, including a $90-million joint venture with GE Capital Real Estate.

In addition to advising clients on commercial sales and leasing, Rackenberg has a specialized focus on assisting buyers looking to use retirement funds for commercial investments.

Rackenberg comes to Houlihan Lawrence with extensive experience in telecommunications and consulting.
Continuing in his position as a managing member at ProTel Consulting, LLC, where he advises small to mid-size businesses on expense reductions focused on the deregulated telecommunications and energy markets, Rackenberg’s financial and investment expertise will be an invaluable advantage to the Houlihan Lawrence Commercial Group.

USAA Real Estate Co. has named Jim Hime as the company’s new chief financial officer.
Hime will be responsible for various financial elements of the company’s business, including financial structuring, the management of debt strategies, liquidity management, and helping to ensure that the company’s investments are performing at optimal levels.
Hime joins USAA Real Estate Company from the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds, where he was employed for three years as chief financial officer of the Real Estate and Infrastructure Department.
Before joining ADIA, Hime was with the Lionstone Group, a privately-owned real estate investment firm. Earlier, he was co-founder and managing director of Hawkeye Partners, a real estate private equity firm.
Before joining the real estate sector, Hime spent 20 years at Baker & Botts, a U.S.-based law firm, where he became a partner and was responsible for opening the firm’s New York office.

Gloria Mercado and Marcia Minton are involved in tenant transactions within the retail real estate services firm’s 90-property, 12.5 million-square-foot shopping center portfolio.
Gloria Mercado, who brings more than 25 years of experience in retail real estate sales, leasing, tenant representation and site selection to her new position, is deeply familiar with the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic marketplace, where Levin’s portfolio is centered.
Marcia Minton has been involved in real estate for more than 15 years, with seven years of experience in the shopping center sector.
Her market knowledge spans New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well as Texas, Oklahoma and Mississippi. For Minton, the quality of Levin Management’s portfolio was key in her decision to pursue a position there.

Stewart W. Davis and Andrei Dansheshave both come aboard as associate directors.

Stewart Davis was formerly a principal in his own firm, Swan Co. Home Builders, a firm focused on the development of single-family homes.
Before that, he worked for Minneapolis, MN-based Davis Real Estate Services Group, a healthcare real estate brokerage and development company.
He attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, graduating with a BA in government and international relations.
Prior to joining Eastern, Andrei Danshes worked in sales for New York-based Elegran Real Estate and Development.
Earlier, he was an associate with Winick Realty Group LLC, representing a wide range of sellers and purchasers of retail properties throughout the Greater New York Metro region.
He earned a BS degree in psychology from Indiana University and is fluent in Russian.

Clinton Management, an affiliate of Douglaston Development which manages and operates the firm’s real estate portfolio, announced that Anne Cooleen, has joined the company as vice president of operations.
Cooleen, who brings more than 35 years of experience, will work in tandem with Clinton Management CEO, Irving Spodek and will assume responsibilities for numerous properties and asset management.
She brings an extensive knowledge of and working relationship with National Multi-Family, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, The New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal, Housing Preservation and Development and Rent Stabilization.
Prior to joining Clinton Management, Cooleen served as a principal at Morgan Steward, Inc.
She has also held senior positions at Enterprise Community Investment, Centerline Capital Group, Home Properties and Koeppel & Taylor Management Company.
She holds several certifications including a Housing and Urban Development: HCCP Tax Credit Specialist, Mediator, and Group Coaching: Columbia University.

Denihan Hospitality Group has announced the appointment of three new vice presidents.
They include: Cheryl Franz, vice president, Learning & Organizational Development; Wendy Pong, vice president, Asset Management; and Susan Weigel, vice president, Revenue Management.
In a newly created position, Cheryl Franz is responsible for managing and supporting the assessment of organizational needs and the design, implementation and evaluation of programs and learning solutions that facilitate the professional development of Denihan team members, across brands.
With more than 15 years of experience in this field, Franz formerly served as director of learning and organizational effectiveness at Broadridge Financial Solutions, and held key positions at Pfizer, Inc.
She also serves as an adjunct professor at Columbia University – Teachers College.
Wendy Pong oversees a portfolio of eight owned hotels and is responsible for aligning property operating performance ownership objectives to maximize real estate value.
Pong has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Prior to joining Denihan, she held various managerial roles at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
Previously, she was with HVS International’s consulting and valuation division.
Susan Weigel leads a 36 person team that is responsible for maximizing revenues through the creation of strategic initiatives in pricing, revenue management, and channel distribution and technology innovations for the company.
Weigel joins Denihan from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide where she served as vice president of Channel Intelligence within Customer Insight & Analytics.
She is a former systems director for Delta Airlines and specialized in analytics for American Airlines.
