WHO’S NEWS: Beth Rosen joins Ripco; CBRE hires retail specialist

BETH ROSEN

Ripco Real Estate announced that Beth Rosen has joined the firm’s Manhattan office as an Executive Vice President.
Rosen, who has been with RKF since 2001, has worked with a world class roster of retailers including Kering’s Tomas Maier, Scotch & Soda, Simone Rocha and L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon.
She has represented several owners, most notably, RREEF, the real estate arm of Deutsche Bank; L3 Capital; KLM Equities; Midwood Investment & Development; and the Related Companies.
Rosen joins Ripco with more than 16 years of retail real estate experience during which she has spearheaded significant and complex retail transactions for clients from across the globe.
Notable accomplishments include playing a leading role in shaping submarkets along Madison Avenue, especially north of 72nd Street and Carnegie Hill.
Rosen is very active in SoHo and in recent leases include Simone Rocha and Gucci on Wooster Street.
Rosen earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Latham & Watkins LLP announced that Michael Haas has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in the Finance Department and member of the Real Estate Practice.
Haas represents clients on complex real estate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, financings, workouts, and restructurings.
He will serve as a Global Co-Chair of Latham’s Real Estate Practice.
Haas joins Latham & Watkins from Jones Day, where he co-led the firm’s Real Estate Practice. He earned his BA from Syracuse University in 1991 and his JD from Cleveland State University in 1994.

Castle Lanterra Properties (CLP) has appointed Gila Cohen as Managing Partner.
Cohen will focus on leading the firm’s corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and private placement efforts.
Cohen brings to CLP more than 20 years of financial services and real estate experience as a consultant, strategic advisor, and private placement professional, as both a principal and advisor.

Most recently, she was a senior consultant, head of corporate strategy and client relations for Courtland Partners, a real estate advisory firm and direct investor.
Previously she served as managing director and global chief operating officer of private equity at Capital Dynamics, and chief administrative officer and head of business development for Golub Capital.
Cohen has also held senior investment banking and trusted advisor roles at J.P. Morgan, UBS Investment Bank and Credit Suisse First Boston.
She earned a B.A. in Art History with a concentration in Mathematics from Columbia University.

Angel Commercial announced that Ron Agababian has joined the firm as a vice president.
A seasoned commercial real estate professional with over 30 years of brokerage experience, Agababian has represented a wide range of office tenants, property owners, investors and developers as they leased and acquired properties.
Throughout his brokerage career, he has worked in Washington, DC; Boston, MA; Manhattan, NY; and Fairfield County, CT.
Agababian is a graduate of Georgetown University.

CBRE announced that retail specialist and industry veteran, Patricia (Patti) Fiore-AmecAngelo, has joined the firm’s East Brunswick, New Jersey office as vice president.
Patti will focus on tenant and landlord representation as well as site selection, site development and market analysis.

Prior to joining CBRE, AmecAngelo worked for RJ Brunelli & Co., as well as for VRI Commercial Real Estate. She was also a co-owner and operator of Centrex Sports Club located in Middletown, New Jersey.
During her career, she has completed sale and purchase transactions, as well as leases on behalf of landlords, developers and retailers around the country.
Noteworthy retail clients include 7-Eleven, The Montessori School, AAMCO Transmissions, Dunkin’ Donuts, Mr. Tire and Artichoke Basille’s Pizza. She has also advised landlords and developers including Redwood Properties, BSG Management, DeVimy Properties and Atlantic Partners, LLC.

JLL has promoted Eric Jassin, senior manager with JLL Project and Development Services, as head of the Hotel & Hospitality group’s practice in the New York metropolitan area.
He will be responsible for leading hotel and hospitality-related project design and construction teams.
Jassin has more than 15 years of experience in architecture and project management. Prior to joining JLL, he served as a senior project manager with GFI Development. Earlier, he was an associate with Adache Group Architects and a project manager with Kobi Karp Architecture and Interior Design. Jassin has also served as an owner’s representative for Morgans Hotel Group.
Jassin received a bachelor’s degree in architecture, with a minor in business administration, from the University of Miami’s School of Architecture. He is a registered architect, certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
The firm also hired Rachel McCaslin as associate project manager with the Hotel & Hospitality practice.
Prior to joining JLL, McCaslin served as an interior design professional with HOK. Earlier, she was an interior designer with BBG-BBGM.
McCaslin received a bachelor’s degree in interior design from Virginia Commonwealth University, a program accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation.
McCaslin was certified as a LEED Green Associate by the U.S. Green Building Council and as a WELL Accredited Professional by the International WELL Building Institute.

Sugar Hill Capital Partners announced the appointments of Allison Selby, Lisa Wertheimer and Kara Moore.
The announcement follows a marked period of growth for the company, including the purchase of over 100 properties in New York City.
Allison Selby joined the firm as Director of Digital Marketing & Communications and is responsible for developing unique strategies to market buildings throughout the company’s residential and commercial real estate portfolio.
Selby spent six years working at digital marketing and communications firms including M18 and Mission.
Lisa Wertheimer will serve as Associate, General Counsel responsible for helping to manage company acquisitions, dispositions, real estate finance, equity structuring and corporate governance.
Wertheimer boasts a dynamic background in litigation, joining Sugar Hill after holding positions at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan and Bingham McCutchen.
Kara Moore will serve as Investor Relations Associate to ensure all client needs are met through transparent communications, reporting, and events highlighting the firm’s achievements and environmental, social and governance impact initiatives.
Moore worked for some of the finance industry’s most sophisticated firms including Bain Capital, Allen & Company and Oribel Capital Partners.
The appointments of Selby, Wertheimer and Moore follow Sugar Hill Capital Partners’ recent appointment of Nicholas Kheny, Director of Environmental Impact, to grow the firm’s environmental and governance sustainability programs.

Berkeley Point Capital announced the addition of Peggy Lawrence as Chief Underwriter of FHA in the firm’s Bethesda Headquarters.
Lawrence brings 24 years of Commercial Multifamily underwriting experience and management of over $1 billion in loan applications.
Previously, she was the Deputy Chief Underwriter of FHA at Wells Fargo Multifamily Capital.
Prior to that, Lawrence held roles at Housing & Healthcare Finance, M&T Realty Capital Corporation, in addition to six years at HUD.
She received a Master’s in Business Administration at Loyola Marymount and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at DePaul University.

T Square Properties is expanding its sales force with the addition of veteran salesperson Rob Seitz as Associate Broker.
Seitz has spent his entire career as an entrepreneur including several years as owner of Rob Seitz Communications, a public relations and marketing communications firm with an expertise in real estate related professions.
Since joining T Square Properties, Seitz represented Munich-based Captron North America LP in lease negotiations at 611 West Hartsdale Road, White Plains, This is the first North American headquarters for the German manufacturer.
Seitz began his real estate career part-time in 2003 with a commercial agency in Scarsdale. He joined a residential firm in Mamaroneck to launch a commercial and investment division.

BBG has promoted Director Jon DiPietra, MAI, to Managing Director of the New York office.
DiPietra has 17 years of experience analyzing all major property types throughout the Tri-State Area.
Developing a specialty in Market Analysis, he has built a broad client base ranging from large institutions, community banks, and local attorneys.
He has been admitted as an expert witness in the New York State Supreme Court (NY County) and has prepared numerous assignments in support of litigation.

JPMorgan Chase announced that the Commercial Term Lending group hired Michael Wiseman as Client Manager for Northeast Multifamily Lending.

MICAHEL WISEMAN

With over 11 years of experience in financial services, Wiseman joins the firm from Norwood Bank where he was Vice President of Real Estate Finance.
He previously held roles in portfolio management and commercial loan originations with Santander Bank in their Business Banking Division.
Wiseman has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Keene State College and received his MBA from the University of Massachusetts – Boston.

The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) announced today the hiring of Louis Tiberio as Vice President, Mortgage Officer.
Tiberio will cover the Mid-Atlantic region.
Prior to joining CPC, Tiberio served as a Director at Greystone Servicing Corporation, where he was in charge of origination of commercial real estate loans on behalf of the company’s Agency, CMBS and Bridge lending platforms.
Before that, he was Vice President, Commercial Real Estate for Investors Bank, and Vice President, Senior Lender, Commercial Real Estate for Beneficial Bank.

AmTrust Title Insurance Company announced that Michael F. Frederick has been promoted to Vice President North Atlantic Regional Manager with direct oversight of operations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
His prior title was Vice President, Regional Agency Manager.
Having worked in the title insurance industry for more than a quarter century, Frederick will focus on recruiting personnel, growing the agency base, and increasing revenue throughout the region.
Frederick was previously Vice President, Agency Services Manager for Stewart Title Guaranty Company. Before that he worked for Fidelity National and First American.
He earned a BA degree from Ursinus College, in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.
