Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation (MMCC) has named Joohyun “Dennis” Bahn as a director in the firm’s Manhattan’s office.
Bahn will arrange debt financing for all types of commercial real estate assets, including multifamily, retail, and office and industrial properties.
Prior to joining MMCC, Bahn co-founded and was the managing partner for Artistic Cube Inc. and The Ground magazine and social networking site in New York.
He was also a co-founder and managing partner of BCB Realty Capital in Manhattan and a senior vice president with Kensington Financial Services in Garden City, New York.
Bahn graduated from City University of New York, Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance.
Madison Realty Capital announced the addition of veteran construction industry professional Philip Schanzer to its growing executive team.
Schanzer will serve as managing director of MRC, where he will manage and execute construction and development activities for the company.
He will oversee the execution of development plans, project managers, construction managers and general contractors, as well as review transactions relating to loans and investment opportunities.
Schanzer has over 15 years of experience in both construction and development. He most recently served as vice president of construction and development with Marx Realty & Improvement Co, Inc.
Before that, Schanzer spent five years with Armstrong Capital LLC. He also was an associate at Emmes Asset Management Company.
Schanzer holds a BA from Brandeis University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
John G. Udell, president of Weichert Commercial Brokerage, Inc., announced that Stan Kurzweil, SIOR has joined the firm as senior vice president.
Kurzweil brings with him almost 30 years of experience in commercial real estate.
Prior to joining Weichert Commercial, Kurzweil was the senior officer of Cassidy Turley’s Somerset office where he was in charge of the office brokers.
Throughout his career, he has negotiated more than $300,000,000 worth of transactions.
Notable clients included Deutsche Bank, AT&T, ADP, Marriott, Hanover Insurance,TD Bank, and Greek Orthodox Church.
Kurzweil holds an M.B.A. in Finance from Bernard M. Baruch College, The City of New York.
Nicole Rabinowitsch, an entrepreneur and real estate dealmaker, has joined Eastern Consolidated as an associate director.
Rabinowitsch will specialize in the sale and acquisition of commercial properties mainly in Brooklyn and Queens and will be working with Eastern’s director Gabriel Saffioti.
Prior to Eastern Consolidated, Rabinowitsch was the CEO and founder of a high-end retail tile and bath business with gross sales exceeding $1,000,000 per year.
She also worked as a real estate salesperson for the Corcoran Group.
Currently, Rabinowitsch is working on the marketing efforts for larger residential elevator buildings, mixed-use and development sites.
The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) announced two new members of the New York City Originations team.
Housing veterans Irving Boykins and Alana Smith join as mortgage officers overseeing the originating of Construction and Permanent Loans at CPC’s New York City office.
Irving Boykins joins CPC with over 24 years experience in the housing industry, ranging from mortgage origination and community development lending to project management and planning.
Most recently, he was president of Condo Lease Associates. Among his earlier positions were client manager, Community Development Lending at Bank of America; associate director, Social Investment Program at Metlife; and project manager and housing finance manager at the Department of Housing and Development in Trenton, NJ.
Boykins holds a BA in architectural history from Princeton University and an MBA and MCRP from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Alana Smith comes to CPC with 14 years of experience in the housing industry. Most recently, she was owner of Calyx Consulting.
Previously, she was a senior project manager at Enterprise Community Partners; project manager at Common Ground Community; mortgage underwriter at Clayton Holdings, LLC; and project planner at Ginsburg Development Corporation.
Smith holds a BA in history from State University of New York, College at Oswego; an MS in urban policy analysis from The New School, Milano School of International Affairs; and a PhD in social policy from Trinity College Dublin.
NBCUniversal announced that Brian Schwagerl has been named senior vice president Facilities Operations, Planning and Services.
Schwagerl will be based in New York and report directly to Ian Trombley, executive vice president, NBCUniversal East Coast Television & On-Air Operation.
In this newly created position, Schwagerl will loverseeing all aspects of facilities operations, service and project management for the company’s 2.5 million square feet of office, studio and technical space in the New York metro region.
Previously, Schwagerl served as vice president, Workplace Strategy & Services, Real Estate and Facilities Planning for Hearst Corporation, where he constructed and opened Hearst’s corporate headquarters in New York City.
Schwagerl worked at Hearst for nearly 21 years, serving in a variety of facilities planning, workplace strategy and real estate positions. He also ran his own business, BGS Advisory Services.
He serves as an Adjunct Professor for NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies at the Schack Institute of Real Estate.
Schwagerl holds a Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law, and a Bachelors degree from the State University of New York at Albany.
The New York office of Coldwell Banker Commercial Alliance (CBC Alliance) has announced that Steve Pressler will be a principal of its newly launched Asset Management division.
Pressler will be joined by Joanne Agoglia, his colleague of 24 years at Promenade Real Estate Corporation, where he was a co-founder and senior managing director.
Pressler is known for his ability to execute complex deals, including a transaction at 609 Fifth Avenue, in which as the owner’s representative for DZ Bank, he arranged a sale/leaseback of the property to Jeff Sutton. He then assisted Mr. Sutton in creating a multi-level, 42,000 s/f retail space in the building and leasing it to America Girl Place. The transaction won the Most Creative Retail Deal Award from the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY).
Pressler’s first position in real estate was as a tenants’ representative in the Midtown offices of Helmsley-Spear.
He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics from the University of Delaware.
The New York office of Coldwell Banker Commercial Alliance (CBC Alliance) announced that Joanne Agoglia will be a principal of its newly launched Asset Management division where she will head up owners’ representative services locally.
She will oversee the management of the properties, interact with owners and tenants, initiate RFPs, review contracts and participate in union negotiations.
Agoglia was a principal and director of Asset Management Promenade Real Estate Corporation.
She began her career in real estate overseeing the New York portfolio of Gomes de Alemeida Fernandes Management and Construction, which later became GAFISA USA, a Brazilian development and investment company.
In 1989, she was instrumental in the start-up of Promenade Real Estate Corporation.

Schwartz has joined the firm as an associate principal with a focus on commercial and construction litigation.
He specializes in defending architects, engineers, and land surveyors in professional malpractice claims.

Sattler will provide real estate advisory services for tenants locally and nationally, which include location planning, lease administration and transaction management.
Prior to joining Cresa New York, Sattler was a commercial real estate advisor at Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, where he served on several leasing teams, was involved with transactions from both the landlord and tenant perspective and built a deal portfolio spanning several industries, including financial, legal, media, technology, education, healthcare and not-for-profit organizations.
Eastern Union Funding has named banking industry veteran Richard T. Cassin to lead the firm’s newly launched credit quality division.
With more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience, Cassin has directed regional offices in commercial lending for several market-leading lending institutions.
His national scope encompasses major retail, residential and commercial developers, and he has managed and built dynamic commercial real estate lending teams throughout the United States and Canada.
Cassin most recently served as a managing director with TransAtlantic Capital Advisors. Among his accomplishments, he brokered a 20-deal portfolio of multifamily loans valued at $100 million.
He was also with Commerce Bank as a senior vice president and head of the commercial real estate division. After Commerce Bank was acquired by TD Bank in 2007, Cassin headed TD’s commercial real estate group and was responsible for expanding lending areas throughout the Northeast.
In addition, he was a senior vice president and regional real estate lending director at Washington Mutual. He also served with Chase Manhattan Bank as vice president and division director.
He received his MBA from Fordham University and he holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Stonehill College.
National Cooperative Bank (NCB) announced Bill Stewart has joined as vice president, Credit Union Market Leader.
Stewart will draw on 15 years of experience and relationships to strengthen and expand the Bank’s existing opportunities, as well as develop new ones.
Prior to joining NCB, Stewart served as a National Member Relationship Manager for Southwest Corporate Federal Credit Union.
In this capacity, he was instrumental in the creation of new products and services, including a new institutional investment advisory service and was part of a team that successfully secured $70 million in member capital commitments to facilitate a major credit union merger.
Morrison & Foerster announced that Lawrence A. Ceriello, as experienced real estate finance practitioner with expertise in originating loans backing commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), has joined the firm’s Real Estate Finance Group in New York as a partner.
Ceriello advises commercial lenders, investment banks, life insurers, hedge funds and others in major real estate transactions.
He brings to MoFo over two decades of experience originating large commercial real estate loans, with an emphasis on loans destined for the CMBS market.
Ceriello joins Morrison & Foerster from the New York office of Nixon Peabody, where he was a partner.
He earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Manhattan College.
