The Domain Companies Launches Leasing at Estela in Mott Haven

The Domain Companies today launched leasing at Estela, a highly anticipated, two-building rental development that will bring 380 market-rate and 164 affordable rental apartments to Mott Haven in the South Bronx. Estela combines premier amenities and a one-of-a-kind New York design with an emphasis on emboldening the rich cultural and historical character of the neighborhood. Targeting LEED Platinum certifications for both buildings, Estela champions environmental sustainability with the most efficient systems on the market to promote green and healthy living for its new residents. The development also celebrates the vibrant character of Mott Haven in its design, drawing from local and natural resources of wood and metal, curating local art throughout its interior and exterior, and offering residents unobstructed views of the Harlem River and upper Manhattan. Estela was designed by S9 Architecture with interiors by Farouki Farouki. The residences at Estela range from studios to two-bedroom apartments, with market-rate rents starting in the mid $2,000’s and up to the mid $4,000’s per month. The Domain Companies is handling leasing in-house from an onsite leasing office located at 445 Gerard Avenue.

Estela features 35,000 square feet of residential amenities which include multiple outdoor spaces, screening, lounge, and game rooms, 24/7 concierge service, a dedicated shared workspace, and state-of-the-art gyms with double-height ceiling and a yoga room, and children’s playroom, to name only a few. The building is pet-friendly and touts a pet spa and dog run for residents’ furry companions. Estela is anchored by 9,000 square feet of retail space, which will act as an added amenity as retailers flock to the limited supply of new development retail available in the Matt Haven neighborhood. 

Each apartment is equipped with stainless-steel, energy-efficient appliances and high-end design features, including open chef’s kitchens, custom cabinetry, energy-efficient windows revealing sweeping views and natural light, hardwood finish plank flooring, and full-size washers & dryers. Further, Estela offers a comprehensive technology package for residents, including a Butterfly Mx video intercom system, automated 24/7 package delivery management by Luxer One, an app-based access control system and in-unit smart home features via Dwelo, building-wide internet service, and MyDomain, a partnership program to connect residents with local businesses via an NFT, commissioned by local artist Ruben Dario.

 Sustainable living is a high priority of The Domain Companies and Estela is designed to create a harmonious relationship between residents and the environment. Both Estela buildings are expected to receive LEED Platinum level certification, the highest level possible. The Domain Companies has equipped the building with features that make green living easy. The building offers in-building parking with eight EV charging stations to encourage and support the use of electric vehicles, and cogeneration systems and PV (solar) panels produce energy to power the building. Estela’s windows are acoustically upgraded, which reduces heat transfer and reduces energy consumption. Additionally, the building design allows for rainwater harvesting, where rainwater is collected and reused for landscaping the building’s 15,000 square feet of outdoor space.
