MetaProp NYC has announced the open application period for the its 2016 class.
The RETech accelerator has already signed leasing platform Flip as its anchor for the program, which is billed as the leading growth accelerator for early stage real estate technology companies.
The 22-week New York City based program is focused on driving business growth and accelerated market penetration.
Last year, less than three percent of applicants were invited to join the program, which includes up to $250,000 in financing per selected company; curated access and introductions to decision-makers, pilots, sources of global investment capital and media and; 301 Real Estate curriculum led by adjunct professors.
Manhattan-based Flip has grown quickly since being launched by Susannah Vila in December, with more than 1,500 leases posted on its platform and over 300 leases Flipped.
“We’ve had our eyes on Susannah for a while now,” said Aaron Block, co-funder and managing director, MetaProp NYC.
“She’s attacking an enormous problem familiar to many renters — the inflexible, long-term lease. For the first time ever, residential and commercial tenants can flip their leases to other qualified tenants. I can’t wait for the Flip to become part of our industry’s regular vernacular.”
According to Monika Wysocki, genera manager of the accelerator, : “Flip is exactly the kind of company we want to work with: strong team, great technology and a massive addressable market. We’re also incredibly excited to have our first female founder in the program.”
Vila said MetaProp NYC’s Accelerator will help provide her firm with the real estate access, intelligence and exposure it needs to maximize growth as the company continued to build relationships with landlords. It’s already led them to a pilot partnership with TF Cornerstone, said Vila.
Open applications to fill the remainder of the 2016 class will be open online until July 31. MetaProp NYC will finish reviewing applications by August 10, 2016, and notify all applicants of their status by August 15, 2016. More information go to www.metaprop.org/apply.
