SL Green retail space gets dolled up for new Fifth Avenue tenant

Cushman & Wakefield has been retained to market the former American Girl flagship retail space at 609 Fifth Avenue.

The pricey dollmaker relocated to the Rockefeller Center and building owner SL Green is repositioning the existing office lobby on Fifth Avenue to 49th Street making for 53 feet of unobstructed retail frontage on Fifth Avenue.

The newly configured retail space will have 180 feet of total wraparound frontage.

The 27,003 s/f flagship opportunity will feature three floors, high ceilings, and flexible door placement for various entry/exit points.

A Cushman & Wakefield team consisting of Alan Schmerzler, Michael O’Neill, Steven Soutendijk, Sean Moran and Jason Greenstone will be leading the marketing efforts on behalf of t SL Green.

“The property’s exceptional position offers unparalleled exposure and branding at one of the world’s single best retail locations,” said Schmerzler.

“Taking into consideration the expansion of the existing retail frontage to 53 feet on Fifth Avenue, customizable storefront and unmatched retail co-tenancy, we expect tremendous interest for this property.”
