River Drive Construction, a New Jersey construction company, announced the progression of move-ins at The Gateway, a mixed-use community composed of luxury apartments and high-end retail space located next to the train station in the heart of South Orange’s Village Center.
The project will provide residents with access to shopping, dining, entertainment and mass transit.
“With our work done and construction now complete, many residential tenants are already occupying The Gateway,” said Joe Langan, president of River Drive Construction.
“We’re grateful for all the hard work put in by the River Drive team as well as our clients, all of whom contributed to completing the project and carrying out the revitalization of the area.”
River Drive serves as construction manager for The Gateway, which is being developed by a partnership of EEA Industries, LLC and SWH Residential Partners, LLC.
Located at 9 West South Orange Avenue, the project is at the height of luxury design with its state-of-the-art utilities, including a virtual concierge and keyless smart home entry technology. Its residential units contain hardwood floors, spacious walk-in closets and other desirable amenities.
“Judging by the great deal of interest we’ve seen in our apartments, it’s clear that The Gateway provides a great benefit to the community,” said Edward Ayuso of EEA Industries, LLC. “We’re excited to see the continued growth of South Orange and its promising future.”
Once the necessary fit-outs are complete, several retailers will be moving into Gateway, including Mara’s Café & Bakery, a regional eatery with several locations in New York and New Jersey; and D&I Fitness, a premier kickboxing and strength training facility based in South Orange. The addition of these establishments will bring quality dining and fitness to the area.
Approximately half of the 57 one- and two-bedroom apartments are leased out.
