The Realty Foundation of New York announced that Norman Sturner, founding partner and CEO of MHP Real Estate Services, will be honored at an exclusive cocktail party to be held at the newly re-furbished Rainbow Room atop Rockefeller Plaza on Thursday, April 30.

Launched in 1971, MHP has bought and sold $10 billion worth of commercial real estate and manages over six million square feet of office space. \Sturner is responsible for the firm’s acquisition and disposition activities and has acquired and sold more than 150 properties in New York.

Recently, he was honored as a member of the Commercial Observer’s “Power 100” and he was also honored by The American Friends of Rabin Medical Center.

Now in its 61st year, the Foundation continues to be dedicated to aiding real estate professionals in financial distress due to market downturn and/or catastrophic medical expenses.

And for the first time since its founding in 1954, the non-profit will deviate from its annual tradition of holding a spring event at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, opting for an elegant affair at the iconic Rainbow Room, 65 stories above the City, offering incomparable 360 degree views.

“We are excited that both senior real estate professionals as well as newcomers to the industry will be attending this event, affording them an opportunity to network and share and learn about the core mission of the Realty Foundation of New York,” H. Dale Hemmerdinger, chairman of the Foundation.

“Everyone knows about the cyclical nature of real estate — that markets fall and rise according to demand. The Foundation is the only existing non-profit organization dedicated entirely to overseeing the fortunes and misfortunes of its constituents; and our organization is just as relevant today as it was when established back in the 50’s.”

Since its inception the Foundation has distributed more than $3.4 million in financial aid to 862 recipients and $4.2 million in scholarship money to 1627 college-bound students.

Cocktails at the Rainbow Room event will be held from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Save the date announcements will be mailed soon to members and their guests.

The Realty Foundation was founded in 1954 by a group of passionate real estate professionals that were concerned about the financial risks facing the brokerage community.

The Foundation’s membership includes 65 of the real estate community’s most prominent members. Chairman H. Dale Hemmerdinger and President Jeffrey R. Gural lead the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
