U.S. Polo Assn.’s flagship store has signed a 10-year-lease at 1540 Broadway in the heart of Times Square, company executives from Thor High Street Advisors, who brokered the deal, announced.
The governing body of the sport of polo chose the 1,250 s/f space for its prominence and visibility amid one of the most heavily trafficked shopping districts in the world.
“Given that 400,000 visitors traverse Times Square each and every day, it is little wonder that the area is considered gold-plated for retailers,” said THSA’s executive vice president Matthew Seigel, who brokered the deal. “U.S. Polo Assn. will find an audience receptive to its brand, and Times Square has gained a top-of-the-line retailer.”
Joseph Sitt, president of Thor High Street Advisors, added, “As a top international brand, U.S. Polo Assn. wanted to secure its place at the Crossroads of the World – Times Square. We’re confident that the combination of U.S. Polo Assn.’s high-quality product line and this powerhouse location will make for an incredibly successful venture.”
U.S. Polo Association’s new flagship store is predicted to be the highest grossing retail store per square foot in the world.
The building at 1540 Broadway is owned by Vornado.
