Walters Homes, an award-winning custom homebuilder, has expanded its operations, adding home design to the company’s growing residential development and real estate services. The new venture labeled Walters Architecture LLC further streamlines the homebuilding experience for clients throughout Ocean County.
Arnold Boyle, AIA leads the new offering bringing his 13 years of industry experience to Walters Homes. Boyle oversees all design services for the custom home division. He is a graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Boyle is a member of the Jersey Shore chapter of the American Institute of Architects and National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. In 2016, he was recognized with the Young Architect of the Year Award through the AIA Jersey Shore Chapter.
“By offering in-house architectural services we can work more closely with buyers and make the custom homebuilding process a stress-free experience,” said Matthew Gaudet-Walters, sales associate. “Arnold is able to help buyers envision the possibilities and provide design guidance until the concept of their custom home is complete.”
“What we’ve seen in the last two years is that there is a true need for custom homes as people are moving away from the cookie-cutter models built in the 80s and 90s,” said Boyle. “The Walters team takes a more thoughtful approach to design, and they’ve found a way to make custom homes affordable. So, from my perspective, it’s exciting to be designing custom homes for the average homebuyer.”
Walters Architecture is based at the Walters Homes Design Center in Barnegat. This new level of customer offerings allows clients to work one-on-one with an experienced architect who can design their new home from scratch or tweak a pre-designed plan.
“Every lot is unique especially when it’s waterfront property,” said Boyle. “When designing a new home, there needs to be balance between the particular needs of the client and the requirements of the site. I get involved early on to analyze their site, determine state and local regulations and then sketch a preliminary plan.”
Walters Homes has built nearly 1,500 homes in coastal locations ranging from Little Egg Harbor Township to Manasquan. All newly constructed homes are elevated on pressure-treated pilings, FEMA flood compliant, ENERGY STAR® certified, and stick built from the ground up.
