French fragrance brand Annick Goutal is expanding its U.S. presence by opening a second location in the Upper East Side.
Newmark Grubb Knight Frank (NGKF) Retail’s Jason Pruger and Aaron Cukier, along with Maria Marra of Maria Marra Consultants, represented the tenant in its search and lease transaction.
The retailer, owned by Korean cosmetics giant AmorePacific, will occupy 700 s/f of ground space and 525 s/f of basement space at 955 Madison Avenue at the northeast corner of 75th Street.
The store follows Annick Goutal’s debut location at 397 Bleecker Street in the West Village, which opened last year.
“Annick Goutal offers modern, yet timeless products and wanted to select another Manhattan location that reflects that unique blend,” said Pruger. “This neighborhood certainly exudes that classic combination of old New York meets high style with residents who appreciate luxury products.”
Named for its late founder, a one-time model and pianist, Annick Goutal offers luxury fragrances for men and women, scented products for the home, bath oils, creams and soaps and a line of skincare products.
The retailer’s wares are already sold in the U.S. at upscale department stores such as Saks, Bergdorf Goodman and Bloomingdale’s.
With newly renovated storefronts, 955 Madison is located near other high-end brand names such as Christian Louboutin, Carolina Herrera and Vera Wang. The site also neighbors the landmark Marcel Breuer building that the Metropolitan Museum of Art is set to take over from The Whitney Museum this year.
Beth Rosen and Karen Bellantoni of Robert K. Futterman represented the landlord.
