Who’s news: NAI Hanson promotes Anne Remley, Bill Edwards joins Rockefeller Group

NAI James E. Hanson announced the promotion of Anne Remley to Vice president of Marketing. Along with her promotion, Remley was asked to join fellow marketing leaders and practitioners on NAI Global’s Marketing Leadership Group.

Remley joined NAI Hanson in 2006 and has proven herself to be an invaluable resource to the growing company. Remley oversees all marketing and advertising for NAI James E. Hanson as well as NAI Hanson Management.  Her focus is to increase brand awareness and coordinate all companywide events, trade shows and promotions.  She oversees a staff that markets all of the property listings, print collateral, quarterly market reports, and database management for NAI Hanson. Her responsibilities also include creating marketing packages for property pitches, designing comprehensive brochures for investment property dispositions and acting as the liaison with the company’s public relations firm.

In addition to Remley’s promotion, she was recruited to NAI Global’s Leadership Group to share her deep expertise and proven record of success with other industry leaders working at NAI Global companies.

Remley previously worked as the Advertising Manager at Edison Properties. She is a graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. She resides in Cranford with her husband Chris and has a daughter who is a sophomore at Towson University and twin boys graduating high school this year.


The Rockefeller Group announced that Bill Edwards has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Core Holdings, responsible for leading all aspects of the strategy, leasing, capital improvements and market positioning for the company’s Rockefeller Center portfolio.

Mr. Edwards joins The Rockefeller Group after nearly two decades with several of the leading real estate private equity and construction companies, where he served in various leadership capacities at both the portfolio and asset level across virtually all property types.

In his most recent position, he was Vice President of Asset Management for Blackstone’s Equity Office division, overseeing a nine-building Midtown Class-A portfolio totaling over 4.5 million square feet.   At Equity Office, he was involved in the acquisition, repositioning or disposition of several premier properties, including Park Avenue Tower, 3 Bryant Park  and 229 West 43rd Street, among others.

Prior to his position with Equity Office, Mr. Edwards was a Vice President of The Carlyle Group, one of the world’s largest alternative asset management firms.  There, Mr. Edwards served as the asset manager for 650 Madison Avenue, a $1.3 billion Plaza District property that was one of the largest investments of Carlyle’s U.S. Real Estate Fund V.

Mr. Edwards is a graduate of Kansas State University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, and Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management, where he received his MBA with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate.  Additionally, Mr. Edwards is a licensed professional engineer.


Veteran retail broker Harry Feinberg has joined the Worldwide Team of Faith Hope Consolo at Douglas Elliman.

Feinberg began his real estate career specializing in retail with 2001 Real Estate and later joined Gronich and company as Vice President Retail.  His transactions included the relocation of the FAO Schwarz toy store to the then General Motors building on 5th Avenue. Feinberg became FAO’s exclusive broker and placed the famous retail store in San Francisco’s Union Square.

He went on to found Outsourcing Today LLC, a publishing, education and media organization dedicated to serving the worldwide Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) community producing the B2B magazines HRO Today, HRO Today Europe, and FAO Today. Crossing Media later purchased Outsourcing Today LLC. Feinberg founded the Human Resources Outsourcing Association (HRO Services and Technology Association) served on the first Board of Directors and Chaired the Communications Committee.

He served as president/CEO of US Magnetics Corporation, Edison NJ.  And  subsequently sold that business to the management team. In 2010 Feinberg founded CumulusHR and Starry Benefits Group, a strategic human resources consulting organization and was the steward of a successful exit of business to management team.

He is currently executive vice president of the Hudson Valley Wine Village real estate project, one of the largest of its kind in New York State.  The multi-use development project is located 70 miles north of New York City on 430 acres with 1.5 miles of frontage on the Hudson River.Feinberg attended Boston College and CW Post College, graduating with a degree in business administration.


Savanna announced that it has hired Blake Williams as a Senior Analyst and Dan Temel as an Analyst. Their responsibilities will include acquisitions, due diligence, financial modeling, and deal structuring.

Blake Williams joins Savanna as a Senior Analyst. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Williams was a member of the Morgan Stanley Commercial Real Estate group in New York where he worked on various transactions, providing financing to public corporations, private equity groups and individuals owning or acquiring commercial real estate assets across all property types in the United States. Mr. Williams graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

Dan Temel joins Savanna as an Analyst. Prior to joining Savanna, Mr. Temel was a member of the Commercial Real Estate Finance group at Wells Fargo, where he underwrote and managed construction and acquisition loans for New York City-based institutional and private developers. Mr. Temel graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cornell University with a B.A. in History.


Savills Studley announced that it has strengthened its commercial real estate structured financing capability with the addition of Cara Leonard, an experienced hotel investment banking recruit who will join the groups Hotel Investment Banking platform as Senior Managing Director in Los Angeles. Cara will be part of Savills Global Hotel Group led by George Nicholas.

Prior to joining Savills Studley, Cara was the strategic head of the structured finance platform at Lowe Enterprise Investors (LEI) where she was responsible for sourcing, underwriting, structuring and negotiating debt and preferred equity investments in hotels.

While at LEI, Cara also served as the portfolio manager for the firm’s hospitality fund and led investor marketing for the firms comingled funds and separate accounts.


Brookhill Properties, LLC has announced that Courtney Knopf has been named Executive Vice President of Operations for the company.

In this new role, Ms. Knopf will establish and optimize the day to day operations of the company including: strategic planning, staff oversight, and operational performance monitoring. She will also be responsible for maintaining strategic business relationships. Ms. Knopf will also continue to have and integral role in the development of the company, which currently has a portfolio of buildings with a current estimated value of over $500 million.

Ms. Knopf brings a wealth of experience previous to Brookhill. Previously she was General Counsel to Martier, a high-end women’s fashion boutique chain, where she negotiated commercial real estate leases, sales contracts, renewal lease agreements, and corporate organizational documents.

Ms. Knopf holds a law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and a Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Tampa.


Jeffrey Heller, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company’s New Jersey office, announced that debt and equity professional George Gnad has joined the firm in New Jersey, along with Jonathan Kristofich and Michael Winters.

Effective immediately, Gnad becomes a Principal of Avison Young while Kristofich and Winters join as a Vice-President and Senior Associate, respectively, in the firm’s New Jersey office. Gnad will lead Avison Young’s debt and equity efforts in New Jersey, working closely with his colleagues in New Jersey and across the Tri-State region.

Gnad, who previously served as a director at Cushman & Wakefield, and its predecessor, Massey Knakal Realty Services, is an industry leader in the debt and equity arena – having spent more than 25 years as a front-line portfolio lender. Prior to that, Gnad was head of U.S. real estate at Bayern LB, a major German real estate bank where he was responsible for a team of 20 banking professionals, originating more than $10 billion of commercial mortgages.

Kristofich, who was previously a director at Cushman & Wakefield and Massey Knakal, underwrote more than 100 buildings with an aggregate value in excess of $250 million with the assistance of Winters during his tenure at Cushman & Wakefield.

Since entering the New York City market in 2012, Avison Young has rapidly expanded its Tri-State market presence. The firm has opened offices in New Jersey, Long Island and Fairfield/ Westchester in addition to New York City, and has experienced rapid growth through a series of high-profile hires and strategic acquisitions.

Gnad holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baruch College as well as a Master of Business Administration in finance from Seton Hall University. He is a current sponsorship chair of the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) New Jersey chapter and the former national chair of the Real Estate Lenders Association (RELA).

Kristofich is a graduate of Manhattan College and earned his Master of City and Regional Planning from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Rutgers University. Winters earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Northeastern University.


Cushman & Wakefield announced that Glenn Isaacson has joined the firm’s New York City brokerage group as a Vice Chairman.

Mr. Isaacson, a widely respected veteran of the commercial real estate industry, has more than three decades of experience in representing both tenants and landlords. In his career, he has leased more than 11 million square feet of commercial space. Additionally, as an owner’s agent, he has been responsible for the successful marketing and leasing of over 3 million square feet of space for Prudential Real Estate Investors; SJP Properties; Invest Corp and Equitable Life Insurance, to name a few.

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Mr. Isaacson served as Executive Vice President in CBRE’s New York office, serving the commercial real estate requirements of clients throughout the region.

Mr. Isaacson has been involved in a number of notable assignments throughout his career, including representing The Boston Consulting Group in several transactions totaling 650,000 square feet; Avenues School in a 240,000 square foot relocation and 85,000 square foot ground up development; YES Network in a 40,000 square foot headquarters relocation and studio renewal; Yeshiva University in the sale of the 341,277 square foot building at 205-215 Lexington Avenue; and DG Fastchannel in various transactions totaling 115,000 square feet.


Coldwell Banker Commercial MECA has named Matt Leonardi as Vice President of Asset Management.

In his new role, Leonardi’s main objective will be to restructure the Asset Management division to facilitate in its continued growth.

Leonardi joins CBC MECA after spending the last 10 years working for SL Green Realty Corp., an S&P 500 Real Estate Investment Trust in New York City for whom he managed over 1.4 million square feet of commercial office and retail property.

Leonardi received the Pinnacle Award in 2012-13 and Toby Award in 2013-14 for a project at 110 East 42nd Street in New York, which earned distinction of Operating Office Building of the Year (100,000-249,999 square feet)

A native of Stowe, Vermont, Leonardi was graduated from Stowe High School and Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, Nev. (Lake Tahoe). Leonardi and his wife, Betsy, have recently relocated to Charlotte from New York City with their one-year-old daughter, Rosalie.
