Manhattan Skyline announced that Madewell, a high-quality spin-off boutique of J. Crew, has signed a deal at 1144 Madison Avenue, between East 84th and East 85th Streets.
This will be its newest store in Manhattan and its first uptown space. Madewell is situated between the new Teavana Fine Teas + Tea Bar and Lululemon Athletica, two highly popular retail spots in this coveted area. This trio of trendy retail stores occupy the 11,000 s/f base of the luxe condominium developed by Manhattan Skyline in 1987.
“We’re excited to welcome Madewell to our upscale roster of tenants at 1144 Madison Avenue,” said Joshua Roth, vice president of retail Leasing at Manhattan Skyline Management Corp.
“With new stores like Teavana Fine Teas + Tea Bar, Lululemon, James Perse and Halston Heritage, the retail corridor of Madison Avenue near 86th Street is extremely strong.”
Madewell signed a10-year lease for the 5,635 s/f ground floor space which offers approximately 45 feet of frontage on Madison Avenue. Karen Bellantoni and Beth Rosen of RKF represented Madewell in this transaction.
