Introducing La Lo La Rooftop, an Elevated Sanctuary In The Sky, in Downtown Los Angeles

Officially launched today, La Lo La Rooftop is an ethereal, sophisticated oasis high above the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. Located on the 34th floor of the recently debuted AC Hotel Downtown LA, the expansive wraparound rooftop, which spans almost 4,000 sq.ft, is designed by the award-winning design studio Yabu Pushelberg, providing an intimate setting for visitors and locals. Here, guests are invited to enjoy specialty cocktails, Spanish-style tapas, and a rotating program of live music and DJs — all set against a backdrop of soaring 270 degree views of Los Angeles and beyond.

Here, Yabu Pushelberg’s inviting design sees a desert-inspired palette of white, olive, gray, and a speckled terrazzo-clad bar, along with lush stylish plantings of palms, cacti, and succulents. By night, the lushly planted space offers intimate heated seating nooks, with bistro lights twinkling overhead like fireflies and oversized umbrellas that keep the atmosphere cozy year-round.

The outdoor terrace’s tapas menu is grounded in the AC Hotel’s Spanish roots, serving up classics with a Los Angeles flair. The selection encapsulates light bites, charcuterie, and tapas perfect for sharing with friends. Highlights include Gambas al Ajillo with shrimp, garlic, brandy white wine, lemon, and parsley, served with a baguetteAhi Tuna Tostadas with avocado spicy tuna and a radish salsa machaGrilled Skirt Steak Skewers with flat iron steak and cilantro chimichurri; and Patatas Bravas. For those with a sweet tooth, the menu features churros with a dark chocolate ganache, hazelnuts, and dulce de leche, as well as the Big Daddy Affogato with churros gelato and espresso.

On Saturday, June 17th, La Lo La will launch its weekend brunch. Available from 11am until 3pm, the menu will see quintessential brunchtime dishes with a twist, such as avocado toast with radish peanut and sesame salsa macha and a simple salad; alongside Hispanic dishes including tortilla espanola, with paprika aioli, goats cheese, and potato; and chilaquiles with corn chips, salsa verde, salsa roja, crema, queso fresco, pico de gallo, onion, guacamole, black bean puree, and a sunny side egg.

La Lo La Rooftop’s beverage menu presents a selection of playful cocktails and Spanish gin & tonics prepared with the best seasonal ingredients Southern California has to offer. Signature drinks include:  Garden & Tonic with Sipsmith gin and Fever-Tree aromatic tonic, served with an edible flower in ice; Mexican Candy with sesame oil fat washed Dos Hombres mezcal, watermelon juice, lime juice, and agave; and the Farmer’s Market Margarita with Patrón Silver tequila, carrot juice, bell pepper-basil-cucumber agave syrup and lime. Complementing the cocktails, La Lo La will also serve up pitchers of red and white sangria, including a non-alcoholic version, alongside a wine list spotlighting Spanish-sourced vintages alongside California classics, and a selection of beers.

Starting today, La Lo La will host live musical entertainment with its Sunset Sounds program. Taking place weekly, from 5pm until 7pm, the bar and lounge will tap local artists and performers, who will serenade guests whilst the sun goes down. As tapas is served and sangria flows, locals and hotel guests alike can expect to experience the likes of R&B and soul singer K Emeline; the first LGBTQ+ mariachi band in the world, Mariachi Arcoiris de Los Angeles; and The Los Angeles League of Musicians, who blend a blend of Cumbia, Afro Cuban Jazz, and Americana.

“La Lo La Rooftop is sophisticated yet relaxed, which is something that doesn’t really exist in Downtown LA,” says Mitchell Hochberg, President of Lightstone. “We see it becoming a destination for post-work cocktails and bites or a kickoff for a night out with friends — all with spectacular views that sweep all the way to the Hollywood Hills.”

La Lo La Rooftop offers the perfect location to gather, from day to night and is conveniently situated in close proximity to entertainment venues including the Crypto.com Arena and the BMO Stadium, providing an ideal destination for pre and post-event light bites and cocktails. The space also offers flexible options for social dining, group gatherings, and private events to make every moment a celebration.
