Monday Properties and Invesco, owners of 230 Park Avenue, announced today that ING US, Inc., a provider of retirement, investment management and insurance products and services, has signed an 11-year extension of its lease at the landmark office tower.
ING has been located in 230 Park Avenue since 1984. They began with 55,000 square feet and have grown their footprint over the past 29 years. Effective in April 2014, ING will occupy 144,000 s/f of space, comprising the entire 13th and 14th floors at 230 Park Avenue.
The renewal follows the recent direct lease at 230 Park Avenue with Clarion Partners. In April, Monday Properties leased the 12th floor (71,000 SF) to Clarion Partners, a private real estate investment management firm and former ING subsidiary that was sub-leasing its premises from ING.
ING was represented in the lease negotiations by Steve Ernst of Cassidy Turley’s Tampa, FL office, together with co-brokers Moshe Sukenik and Neil Goldmacher of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank. Monday Properties was represented in-house by Jordan Berger and by Frank Doyle, vice chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle.
Brian Robin, president of Monday Properties, said, “We are proud that ING continues to base its New York operations at 230 Park Avenue. This latest lease exemplifies our commitment to our tenants’ goals for efficiency and long term planning. It also reflects the benefit of our continuous capital improvements to the building as we provide contemporary infrastructure within the unique landmark envelope of 230 Park Avenue.”
