Savills today announced the appointment of Ellen Rudin as senior vice president, Tri-State Brokerage. Rudin, having held several leadership positions over the course of her three-plus decades in commercial real estate, will oversee brokerage services across the Tri-State region for Savills, specifically in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
Rudin will work closely with Janet Woods, vice chairman and Northeast Region lead, as well as David Goldstein, vice chairman and New York City market leader to support the firm’s brokerage professionals in the region.
“Ellen is deeply imbedded in the commercial real estate industry, as evidenced by her impressive resume and long list of accomplishments, said Woods. “She understands that we are in people-centric business, and that our success is predicated on cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with our professionals and the clients they represent.”
Over the course of her career, Rudin, a real estate lawyer by training, has held several positions within commercial real estate. Her background positions her well to serve as an advocate for the firm’s revenue producers and as a consultant and resource to Savills clients.
Prior to joining Savills, Rudin served a director of space planning and facility management for the Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and Planning. In this role, she was responsible for developing real estate strategies to optimize space utilization of the county’s real estate and was responsible for oversight of occupancy and utilization of county owned and leased real estate.
From 2006 through 2020, Rudin held several roles at CBRE, first as senior counsel and then as a senior managing director overseeing the firm’s Long Island and Outer Borough offices. In 2018, she was promoted to senior managing director of retail for the firm’s Northeast division.
Ellen’s other career highlights include a) founding a woman owned commercial brokerage firm –AMBAR Realty Group in 2001; b) overseeing the legal department and global real estate initiatives for publicly traded telecom firm – Viatel; and c) be an attorney at a dedicated real estate law firm – Wien Malkin & Bettex.
