Hodgson Russ take entire floor at 605 Third Avenue

Fisher Brothers has signed a 10-year lease with the venerable law firm, Hodgson Russ LLP, for the entire 23rd floor of 605 Third Avenue.

Hodgson Russ, which is relocating from 1540 Broadway, will occupy 19,871 s/f at 605 Third Avenue. They are expected to move in around the middle of 2017, the year in which Hodgson Russ will celebrate its 200th anniversary.

In addition to its New York City location, the firm has offices in Albany, Buffalo, Saratoga, Palm Beach, and Toronto, Ontario.

Fisher Brothers recently completed a $25 million capital improvement program at 605 Third Avenue. The centerpiece of the project was the creation of a brand new building entrance and lobby, designed by architect David Rockwell and the Rockwell Group.

Completed earlier this year, Fisher Brothers extended the entrance out onto the plaza which allowed it to create a more spacious lobby with a custom-designed, circular reception desk and a feature wall composed of brass panels.

David Rockwell and the LAB at Rockwell Group also worked with Fisher Brothers to install two oversized digital glass windows, each composed of 900 translucent tiles, which have been designed and programed to function as giant kaleidoscopes featuring a continuous series of computer-generated patterns. The unique panels function as a form of public art visible from within the lobby as well as to passersby on the plaza.

In selecting 605 Third Avenue for its Manhattan office, president & CEO Rick Kennedy noted its many amenities as key to the firm’s decision. “Providing our clients with unparalleled service is always our priority,” said Kennedy. “Our new offices are a reflection of our attention to details and quality of service.”

“We are pleased to welcome Hodgson Russ, which was drawn to 605 Third Avenue for its great location as well as for its blend of corporate and cutting edge features as embodied by the renovation,” said Fisher Brothers Partner Ken Fisher.

Added Partner Winston Fisher, “The new 605 Third Avenue will be attractive to a wide range of companies that want to be associated with a modern, efficient building with a unique and very distinct identity.”

Fisher Brothers was represented in-house by Marc Packman and Jessica Kanfer. Hodgson Russ was represented by Moshe Sukenik, Kyle Ciminelli, and Brian Cohen of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank.

Located between 39th and 40th Streets and in close proximity to Grand Central Terminal and the United Nations, 605 Third Avenue’s prestigious roster of tenants includes Univision, AECOM, the Anti-Defamation League, Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP, Jones Day, Katsy Korins LLP, and the United Nations Population Fund.

Originally built by Fisher Brothers in 1963, 605 Third Avenue was recently certified LEED Gold by the U.S. Green Building Council in recognition of a series of enhancements undertaken by Fisher Brothers to create a highly-efficient and more environmentally-sustainable working environment.
