Golfzon, the world leader in golf simulator market share, Troon®, the leader in providing golf and club-related leisure and hospitality services, and Tishman Speyer, a leading global real estate development and investment company today announced that Golfzon Social will be opening its first New York City location at the luxury residential building 11 Hoyt in Brooklyn. Golfzon and Troon recently signed a lease for an 18,000-square-foot space located at the base of the building to open the state-of-the-art indoor golf entertainment venue. Golfzon Social invites avid, casual, and non-golfers alike to play on the most technologically advanced golf simulators on the market – Golfzon’s TwoVision – in a stylish and energetic atmosphere. When Golfzon Social opens in the fall of 2023 guests will be able to socialize, view live sports, and play simulated golf on 16 TwoVision bays while enjoying a creative, chef-driven menu, hand-crafted cocktails, and a wide selection of craft beers.
Centrally located between Downtown Brooklyn, Boerum Hill, and Cobble Hill, 11 Hoyt exemplifies a best-in-class building made possible through an impressive collaboration with a world-renowned design team. Studio Gang, the award-winning architecture and urban design firm, designed the building. Michaelis Boyd, known for their work designing Soho Houses around the world, is responsible for the interiors of the residences and amenities, and AD100 Hollander Design designed the landscaping. The residences at 11 Hoyt are over 80% sold. In addition, the building features 40,000 square feet of prime retail space offering 18-foot tall ceiling heights and all-glass frontage. Approximately 70% of the retail space has been leased with Golfzon Social joining an impressive array of companies including Petits Poussins Brooklyn, Taim Mediterranean Kitchen and Jack’s Stir Brew Coffee.
“Golfzon Social’s unique blend of an innovative golfing experience and dynamic social environment will make for a one-of-a-kind amenity for 11 Hoyt residents and a vibrant new destination for the surrounding community,” said Erik Rose, Head of U.S. Residential Development at Tishman Speyer. “We are thrilled that 11 Hoyt will be home to Golfzon Social as Golfzon and Troon’s expand this exciting brand.”
Golfzon Social will offer a variety of options to enjoy off-course golf, including virtual league and tournament play that allows golfers to compete with other players around the world. It will also provide a resident PGA Professional for guidance and lessons. The Golfzon Social food and beverage experience will feature a menu that includes sharable golf-friendly appetizers as well as larger meals, all reflective of a variety of pan-global culinary influences. The beverage menu will feature a selection of craft cocktails and craft beers, including the 64 oz. Golfzon growler.
“Golfzon Social is a perfect fit for New York City, as it provides a convenient way for residents to play, practice and have fun year-round,” says Tommy Lim, CEO of Golfzon North America. “While a great option for avid players who want to test their skills on life-like simulations of the most famous courses in the world, it also caters to beginners and non-golfers who are looking to try golf for the first time in a stress-free environment.”
The new location at 11 Hoyt is part of Golfzon and Troon’s efforts to open new Golfzon Social locations in multiple cities across North America. In October 2021, Troon and Golfzon announced a strategic partnership, wherein Troon has invested in Golfzon and its market-leading technology. Troon is managing all aspects of the new venues, from pre-opening development work and project management to guest service and golf instruction, to food and beverage operations. Golfzon is providing its award-winning simulators and team of service technicians. In February 2023, the first Golfzon Social was opened at the Palisades Center in West Nyack, New York.
Golfzon Social’s TwoVision simulator, unveiled earlier this year, is the most advanced option on the market. It features high-speed sensors that capture club head and ball flight data for incredibly realistic performance feedback. It also includes a 24-way directional moving swing plate that recreates true stand and lie conditions, an auto-tee and ball retrieval system, a virtual caddie, and multi-surface mats to imitate the fairway, rough and bunkers. The system also boasts incredibly realistic graphics that are 130% crisper than previous generations, as well as an LED putting guide to read greens.
