Douglas Elliman retail chair Faith Hope Consolo will make her acting debut in the play My Big Gay Italian Midlife Crisis for one night only April 28, at the Theater Center in Midtown.
She will play the role of “Luscious Lucille,” in the third chapter of a trio of plays by Anthony Wilkinson.
“I’ve always been chased to do shows on Bravo and on TV,” said Consolo. “One of my managers said to me, ‘Faith, you should do this show,ʼ so I said I’d do one night on Broadway to see if I liked it, then maybe the movie.”
Wilkinson is also producing a movie version of the series of plays, referred to as the Big Gay Italian trilogy.
In the third chapter, Wilkinson’s character (Anthony Pinnunziato) is approaching his 40’s and is faced with the challenges of balancing his now very successful weight loss company with past and present gay relationships, according to a press release.
“It’s really very funny, and it’s right up my alley,” said Consolo.
“Everyone says I’m a comedian, and in real estate you have to be a comedian.”
Consolo’s character is part of a team of personal trainers in a gym, where they have founded a new liquid diet drink.
Playing the part will fulfill a lifelong dream of Consolo’s to act, a career she has often said she would have prusued if real estate hadn’t brought such success.
“When I was younger, I got a call back for a soap opera and my grandmother never told me because she didn’t want me to be an actor,” said Consolo.
“We’re all actors and actresses in real estate, so it will be a perfect gig.”
