The Elm East, a new luxury rental at 8-55 Broadway in Elmhurst, Queens, has surpassed its initial objectives by leasing up half of the 83 units in the first month on the market.
Renters have responded favorably to the convenience of a 12-minute subway commute to Midtown Manhattan and a subway station a few steps from their front door.
Developed by the father and son James and Jerry Pi, The Elm East has panoramic views of Manhattan. Most apartments have glass-walled balconies or terraces, entered from living rooms and bedrooms, and floor-to-ceiling windows.
Designed by Raymond Chan Architects, the building has a sleek, contemporary lobby by Daniel Goldner Architects. The Residences have condominium quality finishes, including 5-inch wide hardwood slat floors, marble bathrooms with porcelain floors and kitchens with white granite counters.
Pi Capital Partners plans to build The Elm West directly across the street beginning in late 2013.
