A FED-UP renter was so desperate to buy his first apartment, he paid the difference between the appraisal and the closing price out of pocket.


“There was a bidding war where the neighbor wanted to also buy it,ˮ explained Corcoran agent Victoria Reichelt, who repped both sides in the 20-day deal.
“At the end of the day, the market is judged by what the buyer is willing to pay. When the appraisal came in lower, he ended up paying the difference with no issue.ˮ
A Jnr. one bedroom with 10 ft. ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and updated appliances, Reichelt listed #610 at 77 Bleeker Street for $599,000, lower than other studios that were on the market.
“Overlooking a quiet, tree-line block, this is the best studio on the market at Bleecker Court,ˮ said Reichelt.
The buyer — who also owns a house in Sag Harbor — outbid the neighbor with his $635,000 offer.
