DONE DEALS: Playing Santa Claus

Chris Benfante

Corcoran’s Chris Benfante played Santa Claus to a German couple searching for a Brooklyn pied a terre close to the BAM Cultural District.

The buyers were in town for the weekend and came to an open house Benfante was having at a Unit in 1 Hanson Place, just down the block from BAM.

That apartment was larger than they needed, so he told them about Unit 21A which he was just about to list.

“They saw it and fell in love with it,” said Benfante. “They were the first buyers to see it, but knew it would sell quickly, so they offered the seller his asking price in cash if he would go to contract before they returned to Germany. “They wanted to move in by Christmas so they could spend the holidays in New York, and Santa made it happen.”

The 1,166 s/f rarely available two bedroom, 2-bath condo has a private terrace and protected, open views north and east above Fort Greene Park to the East River and Midtown Skyline.

Sarah Parsons of Halstead represented the buyers, who paid the full $1,369,000 asking price.
