Daniel Rose, chairman of Rose Associates, one of New York’s oldest real estate firms, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in appreciation of his devotion to the university and support for Israel. He received the honor during the Technion International Board of Governors (BOG) meeting in Haifa. Accepting the award Mr. Rose said: “Creativity and innovation have become the hallmarks of the Technion. That New York City has chosen the Technion and Cornell to develop a world-class center of technology and science says everything that is to be said of the Technion of today.” Rose first visited the Haifa campus in 1949 as a teenager with his late uncle David, who was one of the earliest presidents of the ATS and the namesake of the Technion campusí main thoroughfare. Together with his brothers, Elihu and the late Frederick, Mr Rose has sponsored many projects on the Technion campus including the David Rose Research Center for Physics of Quantum Structures.
