Co-working co. Industrious opens two mall locations

Flexible workspace provider Industrious has announced two new mall locations: The Mall at Short Hills in Short Hills, NJ with Taubman and Broadway Plaza, in Walnut Creek, CA, its second location in partnership with Macerich.

In The Mall at Short Hills, Industrious will take 30,000 s/f in the former Saks Fifth Avenue.

Product offerings will include coworking and private offices for teams of up to eight. It is expected to be open for business Q4 2019.

At Broadway Plaza, Industrious will be the first occupant in a newly-constructed expansion space on the second floor above retail, taking 36,000 s/f.

Product offerings will include coworking and private offices for teams of up to eight. It is expected to be open for business Q4 2019.

To deliver on its mission of providing an amazing workplace experience, Industrious offices are located in walkable, highly-trafficked, highly-amenitized areas.

The company said that being in a retail center or a mall setting checks all the boxes (shared amenities, dining and shopping options, accessibility) as well as offers plenty of on-site parking.

Industrious is looking to expand into dense, highly-affluent suburbs of major metro areas. Industrious expects 20-25% of the locations it signs this year (2019) to be in suburban markets.

It currently has over 65 locations across 40 U.S. cities.
