With a multi-disciplined approach to investment sales, Alfonso Holloman, First Vice President of CBRE’s Long Island City operations, is one of the industry’s leading commercial real estate power-brokers.
Since entering the real estate arena in 1996, Mr. Holloman has carved out an impressive track record of successfully negotiating some of the market’s most noteworthy transactions.
Impressively, in 2010 he completed the largest ($30 million) multifamily portfolio sale in the Borough of Queens and in 2011 he represented U.S. Bank National and Wells Fargo Bank in the disposition of several distressed assets.
His work and dedication have garnered a number of industry awards.
“I always knew I would be involved with commercial real estate,” said Holloman, who had a successful career in mortgage finance with New York Mortgage Partners and sales with Computer Associates International.
“In 1999, Massey Knakal Real Estate Services wanted to bring its market-leading commercial real estate business to Queens, NY and opened its first satellite office.
Knowing the market extremely well from my work with New York Mortgage I made the jump and never looked back.”
Success followed Mr. Holloman in the investment sales arena, and during his long tenure with Massey Knakal he was consistently a top producer, responsible for originating and executing in excess of $250 million in commercial investment real estate transactions. As a result, he earned company-wide Top Producer status in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2011.
In a move which served to broaden its investment sales capabilities in the Outer Boroughs, while at the same time continuing the company’s commitment to diversity, CBRE brought Mr. Holloman onboard, where he joined a group of extremely talented professionals at its Long Island City, Queens offices.
“Over the past few years we have built a very strong team of professionals in our New York City Outer Boroughs office,” noted Ellen Rudin, Managing Director of CBRE’s Long Island operations.
“An executive of Al’s caliber further helps us to broaden our investment sales reach and provide the quality of client service the firm is recognized for globally.”
In addition to his investment sales activity, which is usually a 24/7 commitment, Mr. Holloman is also dedicated to mentoring young brokers in the industry. “Passing on knowledge and helping the next generation of real estate leaders is imperative for the industry to continue to grow.”
Mr. Holloman earned a Bachelor of Science from Hampton University and a Master of Business Administration from Adelphi University.
In 2006, he was awarded the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation (CCIM), one of the highest professional certifications one can earn in commercial investment real estate, signifying to investors and practitioners worldwide that you are a recognized expert in your field. In addition, he is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York, the African American Real Estate Professionals of New York, Adelphi University Alumni Association and the National Hampton Alumni Association.
A typical New Yorker, Mr. Holloman, who resides in New Rochelle, NY, is an avid sports fan and enjoys the theater and the arts.
