Omnicom, one of the world’s largest advertising agencies, is further expanding its presence in Lower Manhattan by taking an additional 26, 414 square feet on the 18th floor at 195 Broadway. The move brings its total occupancy in the 29-story landmarked property to 295, 294 square feet and brings 195 Broadway to 100% occupancy.
The distinctive million square foot building, which once served as the New York headquarters of AT&T, is owned by L&L Holding Company, LLC and Beacon Capital Partners. The William Welles Bosworth designed masterpiece is strategically located between Lower Manhattan’s two major public transportation hubs in what is now referred to as Downtown North.
“It’s ironic that the property which saw so many world changing technological innovations during the period of AT&T’s tenancy has again become a destination address for tech and new media companies” said David C. Berkey, Executive Vice President of L&L Holding Company LLC. “We are delighted that one of the giants in the field of advertising has chosen to further expand its tenancy in what has clearly become the go to address in the increasingly vibrant Downtown North market segment”.
L&L Chairman and CEO David Levinson noted that while his building is now fully leased, there is already significant interest in the 400,000 square foot block of space anticipated to become available when Thomson Reuters relocates at the end of 2015.
Lee Feld of Feld Real Estate, LLC represented Omnicom in the latest expansion while David C. Berkey and Andrew Wiener of L&L Holding Company, LLC, represented building’s ownership.
