WHO’S NEWS: Tom Wexler joins Leslie J. Garfield; Elliman welcomes Mar Jennings


Leslie J Garfield has appointed award-winning real estate broker Tom Wexler as a Senior Real Estate Advisor.
Wexler has over 30 years of experience in townhouse real estate, with 15 years spent at Douglas Elliman and a further 15 years at The Corcoran Group.
In his 30-year career, he has sold and rented over 150 townhouses/brownstones in New York City which has totaled more than $1billion in gross sales.
His experience includes purchasing, restoring, renovating and selling real estate (including his own Upper East side townhouse).
Wexler will be working alongside the company’ssenior team to support sales and shape business strategy.
Douglas Elliman announced that Mar Jennings, one of Fairfield County’s top real estate professionals, lifestyle expert and three-time Emmy nominated TV host, has joined the firm’s office in Greenwich, CT.
Along with his team of Lifestyle Realtors, Jennings will be working with Jennifer Miller, Elliman’s Executive Manager of Sales for Greenwich.
Previously, Jennings was President of Marketing and Promotions for The Higgins Group.


With a background in home finance prior to entering real estate, Jennings built a successful career in banking, holding the position of Senior Vice President with direct overall management responsibility for the entire state of Connecticut.
He is also a four-time gold medalist in regional and sectional US figure skating.
His career as a lifestyle expert grew after combining his corporate and creative passions. His casual luxury brand created opportunities for appearances on HGTV, The Today Show, QVC, Hallmark Channel, Food Network and many other media channels across the country.
He is a lifestyle influencer on social media, and he is a frequent contributor to ABC and NBC.
A best-selling home and garden author, Jennings is an expert in negotiation, sales management, lead-generation, and the development of staff, associates, and teams.
William Raveis Mortgage, LLC, announced the addition of Jose-Vladimir Lopez as Executive Mortgage Broker.
Lopez will be responsible for originating residential mortgage loans, generating leads, and interviewing loan applicants, as well as all of the duties of an executive mortgage banker.


In addition, Lopez will add  value to the team at William Raveis as its only fully bi-lingual member (Spanish & English), including establishing new business relationships within the mortgage community and generating a Spanish-speaking customer base.
Lopez comes to William Raveis with a deep industry knowledge, having held several leadership positions at key mortgage corporations in Delaware, New York and Connecticut.
He as Branch Manager & Residential Loan Officer at Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation in East Berlin, Conn.
Prior to moving to Connecticut, he cut his teeth in the mortgage industry in Delaware, spearheading a total of $96.8 million in loan originations during his ten-year tenure.
Lopez graduated cum laude from Temple University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a double major in Finance and Real Estate.
Prior to university, he served for six years in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Weichert, Realtors announced that Robert Gavura has been named regional vice president of its Manhattan and Hudson County sales offices.


He will be responsible for the management and growth of four Weichert sales offices in New Jersey including Bayonne, Hoboken, Jersey City Downtown and Jersey City Exchange Place and two Manhattan sales offices in Rockefeller Center and Soho.
Gavura brings more than 14 years of real estate experience to his new role, and has successfully led offices that have generated more than $1 billion in dollar volume.
During his career at Weichert, he has become known for his leadership and for bringing several Weichert, Realtors sales offices to historic levels of profitability, including the Hoboken office and the former office in Fair Lawn.
Prior to his career in real estate, he worked on Wall Street and was honored with the Outstanding Representative Award from the Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals in Business.
Gavura holds a Bachelor of Arts in management and marketing.
Warburg Realty announced two additions to the 120-year-old firm’s executive staff.
Annette Gallo was appointed Chief Marketing Officer and Rosana Vidal was named Executive Director of Marketing.


Annette Gallo brings over 15 years of experience from her tenure in the luxury and digital space with such prestigious companies as Condé Nast, PopSugar, Exposure, and AOL, where she successfully led in-house creative, marketing and branding teams.
As Warburg’s new CMO Annette will oversee the internal marketing team, and focus on building and strengthening the Warburg brand through strategic partnerships and innovative consumer outreach.


Rosana Vidal joins Warburg with a wealth of experience leading marketing teams in the New York City luxury real estate industry.
Originally an agent herself, Vidal was the former Director of Agent Marketing at TOWN specializing in the development of creative marketing strategies and the implementation of efficient marketing systems and processes.
Having consulted for prominent New York City real estate firms, Vidal has a broad range of expertise in print, digital, and event marketing.
The two will be based out of the firm’s new 2,350-square-foot Tribeca office at 124 Hudson Street.
Halstead Property announced that Park Slope-based real estate veteran Tammy Shaw, along with her team from TB Shaw Realty Associates, will join Halstead Brooklyn.
Shaw brings a superior knowledge of the Brooklyn market as well as 30 years of real estate experience, including si years as Principal Partner and Owner of Brenton Realty and 10 years as Principal Broker and Owner of TB Shaw Realty Associates, which she launched with longtime colleague Brian Graham.
Shaw and her team will continue to work out of their existing space at 197 7thAve. in Park Slope, while Halstead completes their new 2,800 s/f office at 160 7th Ave., two blocks away and scheduled to open in late 2016.
This new office will be Halstead’s eigth storefront location in the Brooklyn
Laffey Real Estate announced the following additions to the company:
Mathew Joseph has joined Laffey Real Estate – Manhasset as a Sales Agent. He was previously with The New City Deptartment of Finance as a Senior Supervisor for 20 years.
Nicholas Dorane has joined Laffey Fine Homes – Port Washington as a sales agent. He was formerly with Altour International in New York City.
• Muhammad W. Shaikh has joined Laffey Fine Homes – New Hyde Park as a Sales Agent. He was formerly a Science teacher with August Martin High School in Jamaica for ten years.
Yolanda Dunigan has joined Laffey Fine Homes-Northport as a Sales Agent. She was formerly with Fairfield Properties in Melville for nine years as a Leasing Agent.
Rosemary Forkin has joined Laffey Fine Homes – Jackson Heights as a sales agent. She was formerly a detective with the New York City Police Dept. for over 20 years.
