Two food concepts pull up a seat at Rudin building

Rudin Management Company is bringing two new food and beverage concepts to 136 East 55th Street, a 15-story, 192-unit residential tower in Midtown East.

Fast-causal eatery Glaze Teriyaki has signed a 1,977 s/f lease comprising a portion of the ground floor at the building, which is located on the southeast corner of Lexington Avenue and East 55th Street.

The restaurant, which specializes in Seattle-style teriyaki cuisine, is the fifth New York City store for the group, which also has locations in Chicago, San Francisco and Madison, WI. It is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2016.

In addition, Untamed Sandwiches, a sandwich shop specializing in serving braised meat sandwiches made with sustainable ingredients, has leased 1,493 s/f of retail space at the property.

The new store will be the brand’s second New York City restaurant. It is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2016.

RKF’s Ike Bibi represented the tenant in both transactions, while Thomas M. Keating, Senior Vice President and Director of Commercial Leasing at Rudin Management, represented the landlord in-house.
