Town Residential, the Manhattan-based real estate services firm, has announced that its sixth office will open this week on East 79th Street.
Known as Town Upper East Side, the ground-floor storefront will cover approximately 6,000 square feet on the northwest corner of East 79th and Second Avenue.
“As one of the world’s most prominent and prestigious neighborhoods, there was never any question that the Upper East Side would be part of the first phase of Town’s growth,” said Andrew Heiberger, Town’s Founder and CEO. “This is an exciting milestone for our company, particularly on the heels of surpassing $500 million in exclusive sales listings and approaching capacity in our other five offices with over 300 licensed representatives and staff.”
Town Upper East Side is slated to house approximately 55 representatives. Juliet Clapp has been named Sales Director for the office, and Hal Gavzie has been promoted from Town’s Listings Director to Leasing Director for this office.
Designed by GRADE, the office build-out was inspired by the fashion retailers of Madison Avenue and features custom designed furniture in ebonized sycamore, stone, lacquer and concrete. Town Square, which has become a signature of the company’s offices, is again a prominent feature and has been designed to accommodate and host representatives, clients, local vendors and neighborhood residents visiting the office.
“This office sits at one of the key crossroads of the Upper East Side,” said Matthew Van Damm, Town’s Director of Operations. “With a highly visible corner space surrounded by a staggering density of residential inventory, we quickly recognized it was the ideal location for a real estate office in the neighborhood.”
Town also cited the neighborhood’s vibrant new development market as another factor necessitating the launch of the office. “There are numerous high-end developments coming to market in the area, many of which could very well see record-setting sales campaigns,” said Reid Price, Managing Director of Town New Development Sales & Marketing. “Our continued presence in the neighborhood will keep us intimately in tune with the local market for both clients and developers.”
Since launching in December 2010, Town has opened five other offices while assembling a team of over 300 licensed professionals and staff. This will be the company’s second uptown office, joining Town Fifth Avenue at the corner of 57th and Fifth. Located in the prestigious Crown Building, that office opened last June and houses Town’s executive offices, in addition to approximately 50 representatives.
In December the company opened its fifth office, a federal-style townhouse at 45 Horatio Street known as Town West Village. This opening followed the launch of Town Astor Place, a block-front space overlooking historic Astor Place in the Gwathmey Siegel designed Sculpture to Living. Each of these offices joined the company’s first two offices, Town Flatiron at 110 Fifth Avenue and Town Financial District, located at the corner of Greenwich and Rector Streets, both of which opened in December 2010 when the company launched.
