Three Corcoran teams make the jump to Urban Compass

The five-person LaChance Team, three-person Shafer-McHale Team, and three-person Stacey Froelich Team, have made the leap from the Corcoran Group to tech-centric brokerage, Urban Compass.

This move comes on the heels of Corcoran’s number one team in its West Side office, the Hustis/Jovanovic team, who joined the company last week.

The LaChance Team, led by Debra LaChance, brings with it nearly $25 million in exclusive sales listings. The team is made up of four team members including Denise LaChance, Ariel Brenner, Betsey Kane Margolies and Kimberlee Knecht.

Debra has been with Corcoran for over a decade and has worked on over $500 million worth of new developments, with her boutique division specifically catering to developments worth up to $120 million.

Additionally, Debra was awarded Corcoran’s Soho Salesperson of the Year in 2011, as well as a member of Corcoran’s President’s Council in 2009 and 2011.

In 2013, Debra was recognized in the Wall Street Journal’s national ranking of its Real Estate Top 250.

Debra will be spearheading the boutique buildings division of Urban Compass’ New Development Department, led by Roy Kim, who recently joined the company after an eight-year career at Extell.

Stacey Froelich, a licensed associate real estate broker operating out of Corcoran’s East Side office, is also joining the Urban Compass team with nearly $7 million worth of exclusives in tow.

Froelich has 13 years of experience with 36 closed deals in 2013 alone, totaling to over $30 million, and over $150 million in business in the last four years.

Stacey brings with her two team members– Carla Slocum-Friedman and Robert Godby.

Stacey has been awarded a host of accolades in her years as an agent. She was a Silver Council Award Winner in 2012 and 2013, Multi-Million Dollar Club member from 2003-2013 and part of NRT’s Top 1000 Sales Associates. Froelich is also a New York Residential Specialist, board certified by REBNY.

The Shafer-McHale Team, lead by Jesse Shafer and Greg McHale, including team member Natalie Hedden, has nearly 20 years of combined real estate market experience.

Both Shafer and McHale were included in the NRT’s Top 1,000 Sales Associates Nationwide, with Shafer qualifying three separate times, and McHale qualifying twice, as well as being recognized in the Top 2 percent of the NRT’s 45,000 Sales Associates Nationwide.

Since teaming up in 2011, the team has completed close to 150 transactions and $300M in sales to date.
