Steak joint Quality Eats has signed a 5,122 s/f lease at Winter Properties’ 3 East 28th Street in NoMad.
The new branch will be Quality Eats’ third in Manhattan. The restaurant’s current location, at 19 Greenwich Avenue in the West Village, opened more than a year ago. The company also recently signed a lease at 1468 Second Avenue in the Upper East Side. Quality Eats’ new lease is divided between 3.653 s/f on the ground floor and 1,469 s/f on the lower level.
“NOMAD presents an amazing opportunity to increase the brand’s visibility in one of the city’s fastest growing areas. It is a vibrant neighborhood that continues to attract the Quality Eats’ target daytime customer, while also maintaining their core residential base. In addition, the area now has some of the trendiest hotels including The Ace and Nomad, along with some of the city’s most sought after food and beverage operators. Quality Eats will complement the neighborhood’s growing food concepts which include Sweetgreen, Kazu Nori, Maysville, Lady M, Made Nice (coming soon), La Pecora Bianca and The Smith,” said SCG Retail’s Taryn Brandes, who represented the tenant in the transaction.
Quality Eats is owned by Quality Branded Restaurants. The firm, which used to be known as Fourth Wall Restaurant Group, also operates Smith & Wollensky, Maloney and Porcelli, Quality Meats and Park Avenue Spring.
RKF’s Brandon Berger and Jackie Totolo represented the landlord in the transaction. Meanwhile, Brandes and Quality Branded VP Nathaniel Young represented the tenant. Quality Eats is targeting an opening date during the holiday season.
Last year, Winter Properties redeveloped the building. Morris Adjmi Architects provided the designs for the renovations, which included a new lobby and a private rooftop terrace. Winter Properties has owned the 12-story building for over six decades.
