JLL has completed a new transaction for Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas LLP at 444 Madison Avenue with an affiliate of Westbrook Partners as landlord.
The law firm signed a lease for 33,115 s/f of space at the Class A, approximately 500,000 s/f office building.
SSRGA was represented by Mitchell Konsker, vice chairman; David Dusek, managing director; and Harley Dalton, vice president, all with JLL. The landlord was represented by Paul Amrich, vice chairman; Patrice Meagher, senior vice president; and Meghan Allen, senior associate, all with CBRE.
“SSRGA was looking for significantly larger offices in a building with a strong avenue address, and 444 Madison Avenue certainly provided that,” said Konsker.
“The property offered the convenience the law firm sought for its clients and employees, as well as efficient floor plates and a full-floor identity. SSRGA also appreciated a strong but innovative landlord that could offer the flexibility it needed to grow its thriving legal practice.”
SSRGA signed a 12-year lease for 33,115 ss/f of space and will occupy a portion of the fifth floor and the entire sixth floor of the tower located between East 49th and East 50th streets.
The firm is relocating from the 22,000 s/f it previously occupied at 270 Madison Avenue.
Since its spinoff three years ago, SSRGA has grown from 33 to 44 attorneys. “We are ready to start a new chapter for the firm,” said Jeffrey M. Schwartz, one of the founding members, “and could not be more excited to head to our new home at 444 Madison Avenue.”
