REBNY to honor Elizabeth Stribling with Lifetime Leadership Award

On January 18, 2018, at REBNY’s 122nd Annual Banquet at the New York Hilton, we will have the pleasure of honoring several industry leaders for their outstanding achievements to civic service and leadership in New York.

Elizabeth Stribling will receive the Bernard H. Mendik Lifetime Leadership award. It is clear to all who know Elizabeth that she is the perfect candidate to receive this award.
Elizabeth embodies the philanthropic spirit of our former Chairman Bernard Mendik.

She serves as the Chair of the French Heritage Society. As Chair, she oversees the charitable arm of the Society, restoring buildings both in France as well as French-inspired buildings in the United States.

Her commitment to making New York a better place is demonstrated through her service on the Board of the Landmarks Conservancy and on the Board of the Women’s Committee of Central Park. In her spare time, she has worked with numerous charities and social organizations.

Elizabeth is the founder and President of Stribling & Associates, a residential firm here in the City that specializes in high-end residences. Elizabeth, along with partner Connie Tysen, founded the firm in 1980.

As Elizabeth herself says, when “we said we wanted to form a real estate firm, [our accountant] looked at these two dizzy dames like we were absolutely crazy.”

Elizabeth nonetheless blazed a path forward, and now her beloved Stribling & Associates, which is jointly-run by her daughter, is among the most successful residential firms in the City. It has, for example, an exclusive partnership with the Plaza Hotel Residences, hundreds of employed agents, and multiple offices throughout the City.

In 2012, Stribling & Associates was nominated for having the Best Real Estate Website in the 16th Webby Awards – embodying just why Elizabeth has been so successful and enduring in this field so marked by change and evolution. Elizabeth has a relentless passion for improvement. Despite her already great reputation, she is always taking her firm in a new, exciting direction.

She has lived in New York since she was seven, and her passion for the City is clear.

Elizabeth loves to explore her Brooklyn neighborhood, surprising even her daughter with the places she can find. She has been exploring the area for 20 years and is acutely aware of the happenings in all areas of the borough.

Elizabeth is dedicated to the improvement of life in New York City, and she has connected thousands of families with the spaces that they now call home.

Most importantly, though, Elizabeth has blessed each and every one of us who is fortunate enough to call her a friend. And as a friend, I can confidently say that there is nobody in the five boroughs more deserving of this award.
