Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc., has announced plans to open a Nordstrom Rack at The Shops at SkyView Center in Queens, NY.
The approximately 39,000 s/f, two-level store is scheduled to open in fall 2014. The developer for the project is Onex Real Estate Partners.
Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, Inc., offering customers a selection of on-trend apparel, accessories and shoes at 30-70 percent off regular prices.
The Rack carries merchandise from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com and specially-purchased items from many of the top brands sold at Nordstrom.
Nordstrom Rack will open its first Brooklyn location on Fulton Street in spring 2014 followed by a second location at the Gateway Center in Brooklyn in the fall.
When it opens, The Shops at SkyView Center Nordstrom Rack will be the company’s first Queens location.

“We are excited about the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic retail center within a vibrant neighborhood in the heart of Queens and right off the Long Island Rail Road,” said Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack. “We look forward to opening next fall and bringing our customers the very best of our brands at great prices.”
Nordstrom Rack will join the approximately 700,000 s/f center which is home to a mix of retailers, including Target, Old Navy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, Marshall’s, Restoration Hardware and the specialty Asian supermarket Sky Foods among others.
“Nordstrom Rack moving to SkyView Center is a transformative step further establishing Queens as a major retail destination attracting shoppers throughout the Greater New York City area,” said Michael Dana, president of Onex Real Estate Partners and owner and developer of The Shops at SkyView Center.
“We are committed to providing shoppers great fashion at affordable price points and Nordstrom Rack is the perfect addition to our growing mix of retailers.”
