RKF has arranged an 11,600 s/f lease at 1 Union Square West for the combination retail space/gym of Reebok Fit Hub and Reebok Cross-fit gym.
The landmarked building, located on the corner of 14th Street and Union Square West, will house the brand’s Manhattan flagship store.
It also will become Reebok Fit Hub’s largest store when it officially opens in the spring of 2014. The retail space here is currently occupied by apparel chain Diesel.
RKF vice president Jeremy Ezra and associate Yael Amron represented Reebok on the long-term lease. The landlord, Buchbinder & Warren, was represented in-house by Eugene Warren and William Abramson.
The flagship will feature its retail in 4,800 s/f on the ground floor, with the gym occupying an additional 6,800 s/f on a lower level.
The store will join two other Manhattan locations as part of Fit Hub’s ten-store U.S. rollout.
“Many international tourists come here in addition to locals that are sophisticated, youthful, and athletic,” said Ezra. “Other fitness-based and sportswear retailers have done extremely well in the market, and when you add in stores like Whole Foods and the greenmarket, Union Square is developing into a wellness district in its own right.”
