KNA tapped for repositioning of former Toys R Us office HQ

Kimmerle Newman Architects (KNA) has been retained to redesign the former Toys R Us headquarters campus in New Jersey for new tenants.

New Jersey based developer, Dobco Group, acquired the 193-acre site at One Geoffrey Way in Wayne for $19 million last year after the retail giant went bust.

Dobco said it planned to reposition the 630,000 s/f, three building office complex into a mixed-used multitenant campus and tapped a team from JLL to lead leasing efforts.

In May, medical device company Getinge US signed a lease for 45,000 s/f to house some 200 workers involved in sales, service and training. The lease will allow Getinge to consolidate three tri-state locations into two in Wayne and Mahwah.

One Geoffrey Way fronts the Point View Reservoir, on a wooded and rolling site located in the northern end of Wayne township.  Dobco has retained JLL, KNA and Silbert Associates. As part of its repositioning team.

“Our team is truly looking forward to exploring the wide range of possibilities associated with this wonderful and significant assignment,” said George Kimmerle, AIA, PhD, of Kimmerle Group.
