Japanese restaurant Tamashii is opening its third Queens location at 71-34 Austin Street in Forest Hills.
Tamashii, which has specialties such as miso ramen and shoyu ramen, signed a 15-year, 2,900 s/f lease for the ground floor and the lower level. The space is flanked by Victoria’s Secret and Sephora stores.
“This stretch of Austin Street is a retailers dream, surrounded by a dense residential area with financial demographics similar to the Upper West Side of Manhattan,” said Eastern Consolidated Senior Director Harris Bulow. Bulow and Eastern Consolidated Associate Director Aric Trakhtenberg represented the landlord and procured the tenant.
The property is a two-story building with frontage facing Queens Boulevard. Bulow and Trakhtenberg are continuing to market the second floor, which used to contain a spa.
Tamashii’s new location will be branded as Tamashii Red. The restaurant group behind Tamashii also operates Tamashii Ramen at 2905 Broadway in Astoria and Tamashii Blue at 47-36 Vernon Boulevard.
