Halstead Property agent Cheryl Daly has just sold the Upper West Side home of the late political consultant, David Garth.
Credited with bringing television advertising to political campaigning, Garth used his home to entertain many of the politicians he counseled into office, including New York Mayors Lindsay and Koch.
Following his death in 2014, supporters campaigned to have the West Side block he called home named after him.
However, opponents argued the block has been home to much more famous folk, including Noel Coward, Isadora Duncan, George Balanchine and Rudolph Valentino. Mad Men star Jon Hamm currently lives there.
Daly listed the two bedroom, 2.5-bath duplex on behalf of the Garth estate last December, 2015.
It has a magnificent 26.6 ft. oak panelled living room, with nearly 19 ft. ceilings, custom shutters, wood-burning fireplace and wet bar.
The apartment sold to an unnamed buyer for the full $3.9 million ask.
In more Halstead news, the brokerage announced that Richard N. Rosenthal won the grand prize for highest referral dollar volume in 2015 for a closed outgoing referral by the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World.
The award includes full airfare and hotel accommodations as well as conference registration to the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World annual conference in Miami at the Fontainebleau hotel taking place this week.
“Working at Halstead with our Relocation team has been a pleasure,” said Rosenthal. “Being number one in the country is an incredible honor especially considering the amount of agents involved.”
“The caliber of the companies in our network enables us to provide introductions globally and reassure our Halstead agents that their referral is going to be handled with great care,” said Kimberly Barkoff, Executive Director of Global Services for Halstead.

Coldwell Banker Real Estate is expanding its “Homes for Dogs Project” into 2016.
The continuation of the campaign will provide more opportunities for Coldwell Banker affiliated offices to join forces with local shelters and rescue groups through their association with Adopt-a-Pet.com.
The campaign and an associated commercial called Home’s Best Friend brought the brokerage 8.5 million views online in 2015. It was rated the highest performing advertisement in the real estate category by AceMetrix.
The brand will launch another canine-centric commercial in March, driving awareness of the Homes for Dogs Project. The brands will also host another National Pet Adoption Weekend in the fall.
