Fast-growing Florida outfit Sweat 440 is set to open its second New York City location at 80 John Street in the Financial District.
Founding partners Cody Patrick and Matt Miller singed a lease for 4,000 s/f of space with landlord Klosed Properties.
Ravi Idnani and Jared Robins of Newmark Knight Frank represented the tenant and the landlord represented himself inhouse.
An on-demand fitness concept, Sweat440 was an immediate hit with time-starved Floridians when it launched last year. Now its has two gyms up and running and two set to open by the end of the year in the Sunshine State.
The startup opened its first New York location at 600 Sixth Avenue over the summer and is now planning further expansion
“Ultimately, I would like to see 10-15 locations throughout Manhattan,” said Cody Patrick, co-founder of Sweat 440. “Once we have FiDi open, we will evaluate how the New Yorkers like it and plan to expand accordingly.”
Patrick and Miller said they chose the John Street space for their second NYC store because its at the heart of the hard-working neighborhood.
Explained Patrick, “FIDI is increasingly residential and also a staple for busy businessmen and women. We appeal to the hard-working busy types and we felt that this combination would suit our brand well. Since our classes begin every 10 minutes ,the busy person can easily fit the workout into their schedule.”
