A little bit of detective work and a whole lot of persistence paid off for Nicole Gary.
When the Keller Williams NYC agent spotted a Chelsea apartment sitting empty, she put her best gumshoe skills to work.
Gary explained, “The original owner had passed away several years ago and my client wanted to purchase the apartment.
“After much research, we figured out a relative now owned it. She said they were not sure if they were going to sell, but she would get back to me in a month or two.
After several more calls over the months, Gary discovered that there would be an assessment on the building. When the owners heard, they decided to accept her client’s offer and wanted to close before the assessment .
The 550 s/f condo at 270 West 17th Street, aka the Grand Chelsea, has one bedroom and 1-bath. tThe building has a full-time doorman, super, laundry and roof deck.
The unit does need a gut renovation, but Gary’s buyer was thrilled to get it for $850,000.
Marilyn Ontell at Marilyn Ontell Realty, represented the seller.
