Engineering firm Lilker Associates expands at 1001 Avenue of the Americas

Engineering firm Lilker Associates has expanded its lease at 1001 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown. The company, which has been in the building since 1998, will grow its footprint from 17,000 s/f to 24,000 s/f.

“Lilker scoured the submarket for a newly-renovated space to accommodate the firm’s growth plans in Manhattan,” said Savills Studley’s Corporate Managing Director Scott Weiss, who arranged the transaction with Executive Managing Director Erik Schmall. “Through our negotiations, the space at 1001 Avenue of the Americas proved to provide the right mix of building quality, flexibility and price.”

The building, which was built in the 1920s, was once a manufacturing and showroom building, according to the Commercial Observer. Other tenants in the 220,000 s/f building include social media marketing firm The Social Edge and accounting firm Schulman Lobel.

Aside from its Manhattan headquarters, Lilker also has offices in Long Island and in Virginia. James Caseley of ABS Partners Real Estate represented the landlord, 1001 Sixth Associates LLC.
