Engel Burman to deliver two LI rentals early next year

Engel Burman announced it expects to deliver two rental projects in Uniondale during the first quarter of 2021 – the age-restricted (55+) Sutton Landing community and The Brix, which will be non-age restricted.

Along with the 55+ Sutton Landing projects in Mt. Sinai and Deer Park already completed in 2020, the number of rental units produced during a 12-month period will total 800.

The Long Island portfolio additions come as the market for suburban residences continues to be strong – particularly since many New York City residents have sought alternative housing during the ongoing pandemic.

The company also indicated today that, going forward, its growing portfolio of rental properties will be served increasingly by the newly-created EB Property Management, led by industry veteran Collin Gabriel, who previous served in senior roles at Avalon Bay Communities and Greystar Management.

Both the Sutton Landing and The Brix communities provide modern units with popular features, along with long lists of on-property amenities, including coffee bars, pools, fully equipped fitness facilities and recreational offerings.  In addition, The Brix offers a designated study room for students along with shuttle services to nearby colleges.

Scott Burman, Principal at Engel Burman and President of EB Construction, commented, “Long Island, which historically has been underserved when it comes to rental housing, now is experiencing a huge growth in demand for superior quality and highly amenitized residences.

“That demand is coming from all age brackets, and we don’t expect it to disappear in the near future. We will continue to look for more opportunities to meet that demand.”

He continued, “As we build the portfolio, we also are prioritizing the development and maintenance of the highest safety standards for our residents.  With touchless entries, the best-possible air filtration systems, enhanced common-area cleaning and other anti-viral measures, we have created environments that will inspire confidence long after this pandemic has been defeated.”
