Douglas Elliman Real Estate announced it is expanding to the West Coast with plans to open its first office in Beverly Hills, CA by mid-March.
Elliman will kick off operations at 9440 Santa Monica Boulevard with plans to expand to additional storefront offices in the area by the end of 2014. Industry veterans Tom Dunlap and Cory Weiss will run Elliman’s Beverly Hills operation.
“We are thrilled to take the Elliman brand to the West Coast in such a dynamic market as Los Angeles. We want to be where our clients want to be, and strategically Beverly Hills makes sense. All the stars are aligned for success,” Douglas Elliman President & CEO Dottie Herman said in a press release.
“This is a very exciting time for us. Our Beverly Hills expansion will allow us to better serve our customers and increase business potential for our agents. There is a natural synergy between Los Angeles, New York, and South Florida; they share a lot of the same clientele, ” added Elliman Chairman Howard M. Lorber.
Both Mr. Dunlap and Mr. Weiss have experience in the California market. Mr. Dunlap has been in real estate since 1984, most recently as Manager and Executive Vice President of the John Aaroe Group – and prior to that, Vice President at Prudential California Realty. Mr. Weiss has been in real estate for 13 years as a Partner and Director at Partner’s Trust.
Only very few of New York’s top residential brokerages have offices in L.A. –most notably Sotheby’s and Nestseekers. Douglas Elliman currently has over 70 offices in New York City, Westchester, Putnam, Long Island and South Florida.
