Co-working firm The Yard has signed a 33,476 s/f lease at 195 Broadway in South Williamsburg.
The new location will be The Yard’s third space in Brooklyn. Its other branches in the borough are located at 33 Nassau Avenue in Williamsburg and 157 13th Street in Gowanus. The Yard, which signed a 12.5-year deal, will occupy the entire third and fourth floor and part of the second floor.
“As both myself and my co-founder grew up in Brooklyn, we want to ensure we’re supporting local businesses in the borough with beautiful, focused spaces to work and collaborate,” said Richard Beyda, the co-founder of The Yard. “Not only will The Yard: South Williamsburg offer access to design-forward workspace, on-site amenities, retail, restaurants, public transportation and gorgeous views, but we’re proud to be part of such a rich, historic part of the Brooklyn landscape.”
The landmarked four-story property, which was built in 1950, contains 42,240 s/f of commercial space, according to data from Reonomy. The building is owned by the Forman family, which owns and operates Peter Luger Steakhouse across the street.
Michael Rouzenrouch of Miyad Realty represented both sides in the transaction. The Yard expects to open its new location this summer.
