LAS VEGAS — Few deals are sealed at the International Council of Shopping Centers’ Annual Conference, but it’s a good place to get them started.
On Sunday morning, Gary Alterman, a vice president of Robert K. Futterman & Associates’ New York office, met with a Manhattan developer and a tenant based in California, and drew up an outline for a potential deal. “We’re going to meet in June,” he said. On Monday, he sat down face-to-face for the first time with a client from Chicago.
Alterman, who lives in New Rochelle, has been attending RECon for the last 25 years, throughout his tenure at Garrick Aug, then Newmark Knight Frank, and finally RKF. This year, he had a chance to meet with brokers at the firm’s expanding national offices. “We started a Miami office,” he said, and are strengthening one in Los Angeles.
“This is a good meeting point,” he said.
