The former Williams Club is set to open as a new extended stay hotel.

The building at 24 East 39th St between Park and Madison Avenues once housed the Williams Club, a university club for alumni of Williams College.
Bought by Shlomo Bakhash of the Kash Group for $9.02 million last year, the property is undergoing an $11 million overhaul.
The 33-room modern extended stay hotel will offer guest residences that are available for stays of 30 days or more.
Over the last 26 years, Bakhash has owned and operated a portfolio of over 30 commercial and residential properties. This will be the developer’s first entrance into the hospitality sector.
Bakhash has tapped Warner Hospitality to manage the property, a firm whose portfolio includes the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City.
Designed by Edwin Zawadzki and Mason Wickham, In Situ Design; Lilian Bakhash, Lilian B Interiors; and fine artist William Engel; The William will feature five floors of guest suites, each with “a unique color palette that blurs the lines between architecture, interior design, and art,” said the developer in a press release.
Jason Hicks and Yves Jadot, the restaurateurs behind Jones Wood Foundry, have signed on to develop two on-site food & beverage offerings.
Chef Robert Aiken, former chef at Stephen Starr’s Dandelion in Philadelphia, will helm The Peacock and Shakespeare’s Pub.
