Loci Architecture has expanded into the housing market by hiring the former staff of Meltzer Mandl Architects (MMA), including senior project architect David Stuart, announced Loci principal David Briggs.
Stuart and the new Loci team are completing several current MMA projects and are supporting Loci’s long-term strategic plan to expand its practice to include market-rate and affordable housing.
“This is a natural evolution of our firm’s growth, combining our community, education, and private residential expertise with the former MMA staff’s extensive multi-family housing experience,” said Briggs.
“The changes I am announcing, which vastly expand Loci’s talent pool and diversity of services, represent our ongoing commitment to design, service, and vision for New York City.
“What’s more, we are currently working on a number of housing projects which originated with MMA that are a good match for Loci’s and my personal passion for residential design.” says Mr. Briggs.
Loci Architecture was founded in 1993 with a focus on sustainable design. Its completed projects include non-profit community centers, building restorations, single-family private residences, school renovations, and office spaces.
Clients include Brooklyn Prospect Charter School, Taconic Investment Partners, Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, and Molloy College.
