WHO’S NEWS: Residential appointments and promotions

Citi Habitats has welcomed Ryan Edgette as the new Rental Manager of their Park Avenue South office.
Edgette will work alongside Senior Managing Directors Alex Cho and Seth Hirschhorn to help agents achieve their individual business goals.

He will coach and mentor both new and veteran agents. Recruiting experienced agents and helping obtain landlord exclusives will also be among his responsibilities.
Edgette is returning to Citi Habitats for a second time – after working as an agent at their then East Village office from 2009 through 2013.
His initial post-college career was in finance. Most recently, he was an agent at Town Residential .
A native of Buffalo, he graduated from Fordham University.

Moses Seuram, ABR, AHWD, CBR, CIPS, GREEN, SFR, SRES, has taken the oath of office as the 2018 president-elect of the New York State Association of Realtors (NYSAR).
A Realtor for more than 17 years, Seuram is an associate broker with Keystone Realty USA in Flushing.
A past president of the Long Island Board of Realtors (LIBOR), he was named the board’s 2010 Realtors Associate of the Year.
He has previously served on and chaired numerous committees including budget and finance, education, professional standards and housing opportunities.
He won LIBOR’s Community Service Award in 2007, is one of the founding members of the Long Island Chapter of the Young Professionals Network (YPN), and received the YPN Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.
He has served the Association at state and national levels and it active in his community.

The Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors promoted Laverne Brown to Manager of Multiple Listing Services (MLS).
Brown will continue to support HGAR members, as well as teach classes in MLS operations for the Hudson Gateway School of Real Estate.
Brown joined HGAR in 2016 as the MLS Coordinator. Prior to this, she worked with the Charlotte Regional Realtors Association (CCRA) in North Carolina for 13 years.

LAVERNE BROWN

She eventually became the Help Desk Manager there, supporting and managing the MLS.
A native New Yorker from the Bronx, Brown graduated from Julia Richmond – Talent Unlimited High School in Manhattan.
She then traveled to her parents’ home state of South Carolina, where she later earned a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from South Carolina State University.
Upon graduating, she returned to New York City and worked with Microbank Software.

Laura Copersino, GRI, SFR, SRES of Whitestone has taken the oath of office for the second term as the 2018 Metropolitan Region vice president of the New York State Association of Realtors.
Copersino, a Realtor for 14 years, is the associate broker and sales manager at Douglas Elliman Real Estate in Bayside, NY.
Active in her local board, she was 2015 president of the Long Island Board of Realtors (LIBOR). She also served as chair of the Education Committee and as a member of several other committees.
She is a recipient of LIBOR’s Realtor of the Year award, a certified real estate instructor and has served as a director for the Multiple Listing Service of Long Island.
She is a long-standing member of the Chinese American Real Estate Association (CAREA), where she teaches continuing education, fair housing and ethics.
Copersino has served as a NYSAR director since 2010 and on numerous committees. She is a past member of the NYSAR Realtors Honor Society.
She currently serves on the State and Local Issues Committee and as a director for the National Association of Realtors.

AKAM Sales & Brokerage announced that Erin Egan has joined the firm as a licensed associate real estate broker.
Egan joins the company from Keller Williams. A real estate professional since 2009, she has also been affiliated with Fenwick Keats Real Estate, Douglas Elliman and City Connections Real Estate.
Egan graduated from CUNY with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management.

DEIRDRE SCOTT

Mirador Real Estate has welcomed Deirdre Scott as its Chief of Staff. Scott will be responsible for project management and strategic initiatives.
She joins Mirador with 12 years of real estate experience in both Los Angeles and New York City.
Previously, Scott was a real estate Team Executive Assistant at TOWN Residential. She also worked at Compass as an Agent Director (NYC).
Scott studied International Communications at Sorbonne University in Paris and West Los Angeles College in Los Angeles.
Mirador has also added to agents to its roster.
Danielle Palleschi-Brown joins the firm with four years of real estate experience. She started with EXIT Realty Landmark and moved on to Keller Williams Midtown (KWNYC).
Hillary Palleschi-Browne has 1.5 years of real estate experience and also started at EXIT and then went to KWNYC.
The two specialize in international relocation. Danielle is are currently licensed in DC/VA and Hillary is licensed in NY and DC.
Agent Michael Simmon-Pappadakos joins Mirador with six years of experience, having worked at Garfield Realty since 2012.

The New York State Association of Realtors honored David Legaz of Flushing with its 2017 Community Service Award in recognition of his dedication to raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to help fellow 9/11 first responders.
He received the award during the association’s Mid-Winter Business Meetings in Albany, NY. He runs the Legaz Team at Keller Williams in Queens.

Five of New Jersey’s top women agents have formed their own brokerage. West of Hudson Realty Group, also known as WOHud, just opened in Montclair, NJ, at 210 Bellevue Avenue. The full-service boutique launched with 16 agents and listings across the region. Partner and broker of record Maria Vecchione, said WOHud wants to bring personalized style back to and industry dominated by corporate agencies in recent years. “We are building real, lasting relationships, whether it’s providing information about the local schools, to identifying the right contractor for renovations, or knowing the perfect spot for a weekend brunch, we are there for our clients from day one continuing long after closing,” said Vecchione. With a collective $140 million in sales in the past two years, her partners in the venture are Susan Horowitz, Irina Grobman, Leslie Kunkin and Robin Seidon

Legaz, a retired New York City Police Department sergeant, spent months at Ground Zero following the 9/11 attacks. Wanting to find a way to help those fellow first responders who had been stricken with blood cancers due to their prolonged exposure, he began running marathons and half-marathons with Team In Training, which raises money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Since 2011, he has raised approximately $85,000, while completing more than 20 half-marathons in locations across the country and several New York City Marathons.
Team In Training helps provide funding for significant therapies like chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants, which have a significant impact on blood cancer patients.
Along with an inscribed award, a grant of $500 was also made in Legaz’s name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Homes By Mara Realty has welcomed Robin Feld as a licensed associate broker.
Previously, Feld was a licensed associate broker at Douglas Elliman at its Syosset, NY.
During her two decades in the business, Feld has also been affiliated with Charles Rutenberg and Coldwell Banker.
A prior recipient of Town of Oyster Bay’s Woman of Distinction Award for its Distinguished Woman Humanitarian, Feld is co-founder and executive director of operations of Blanca’s House in Huntington Station, a non-profit that provides healthcare to individuals with little or no access to medical services in Latin America.
