WHO’S NEWS: Mitch Simpler honored by ASHRAE; Robert Ceretti joins TPG

TPG Architecture has hired Brittany Unis as Senior Marketing & Communications Director. In this role she will be responsible for overseeing the marketing department and strategic direction of the firm.

BRITTANY UNIS

Unis has over 15 years of experience within the A/E/C industry, most recently as the Marketing Director of IBI Group/Gruzen Samton in New York. She has also worked at Ted Moudis Associates and Faithful & Gould.
She received her BS in Business from Marymount College of Fordham University and her MBA in International Marketing from Richmond College, American University in London. She has been a member of SMPS for several years.

Hoffmann Architects has welcomed Graziano Meniconi as a Project Manager in the firm’s New York City office. A licensed architect in ltaly and the European Union who has recently relocated to the United States, Meniconi holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Florence, and he brings over sixteen years of relevant experience in the rehabilitation of building enclosures. As Project Manager, he is responsible for coordinating and supervising project teams to deliver building envelope design solutions that meet aesthetic, technical, budgetary, and scheduling objectives.
Meniconi applies his specialized education and experience in architectural restoration to building enclosure projects; currently, he is providing investigation and design services for projects in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. He lives in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Marcia Kellogg has been named director of marketing at Leggette, Brashears & Graham, Inc. (LBG), a professional groundwater and environmental engineering services firm.
In her new position, Kellogg will oversee all internal and external communications and business development activities for the firm nationwide, including media relations, advertising, social media, website, presentation development, trade show planning, proposal production, and publications. She has 21 years of professional services marketing experience, having served in various leadership and marketing roles for architectural, engineering and construction management firms throughout Connecticut. Prior to joining LBG, she was marketing manager at Standard Builders.
A Past President of SMPS Connecticut,  Kellogg has conducted seminars in marketing and facilitated numerous programs to benefit the industry. In 2014, she founded the A/E/C Marketing Think Tank, a brainstorming process involving senior level marketing professionals and principals serving the design and construction industry to help peers solve their greatest marketing challenges collectively, creatively and constructively.

Jaros, Baum & Bolles (JB&B) announced that managing partner, Mitch Simpler, has accepted the Distinguished Service Award from the New York Chapter of ASHRAE (ASHRAE NY).

Simpler received the award at the organization’s sold-out 42nd Annual Gala held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the legendary Rainbow Room.
Throughout his career at JB&B, Simpler has led the charge for new innovations in sustainable building design. Mr. Simpler’s leadership on a wide variety of projects has allowed JB&B to excel. A few of Mr. Simpler’s notable projects include the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s new Memorial Inpatient Hospital in New York City, as well as the Belfer Research Building at Weill Cornell Medical College and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Knute has demonstrated success in project and program delivery, business development, strategic planning and stakeholder engagement; he has a passion for aviation infrastructure and delivering complex programs and projects.

 Perkins Eastman announced that Lance Hosey FAIA, LEED AP, BD+C, has joined the firm as its newest Principal and its first Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), as well as the firm’s Board of Directors.
Based out of the Washington, DC, office, Hosey’s expertise and 25+ years of leadership will become integral to all Perkins Eastman sustainability and high-performance strategies. He brings with him a team of three sustainability professionals who will join later this summer.
Hosey currently chairs the USGBC’s LEED Advisory Committee and serves on the Advisory Group for the AIA’s Committee on the Environment (COTE). A prolific author as well, Hosey launched Architect Magazine’s first sustainability column, which he wrote from 2007 to 2010.
He has also authored two books, the latest of which, The Shape of Green: Aesthetics, Ecology, and Design, was a finalist for 2014 Book of the Year at the National Urban Design Awards and has been Amazon’s #1 bestseller for sustainable design.Formerly he was the first CSO with RTKL, President and CEO of the sustainability nonprofit GreenBlue, a Director with William McDonogh + Partners, and a designer with Gwathmey Siegel Kaufman and Rafael Viñoly. Notable past clients include NASA, Palm, Google, SC Johnson, the University of California, and American University.

TPG announce that Robert Ceretti, AIA, LEED AP, has joined its Retail Studio.
Rob brings over 20 years of Retail Planning, Design, and Project Management expertise to the firm. Prior to joining TPG, he was the Founding Principal of R.CERETTI + associates, working with Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, as well as European luxury and fashion retailers to bring their branded environments to the United States.
Rob and his team have overseen the construction of over 10 million square feet of retail space, including department stores and shopping centers in Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul and Kazakhstan. His projects have received numerous awards from VMSD, Chain Store Age, and A.R.E., and his firm had consistently placed on VMSD’s Top 50 Retail Design Firms list.
Rob is a Registered Architect, member of the American Institute of Architects and a LEED Accredited Professional. A long-time Retail Design Institute member, past Chairman and Fellow, he recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his efforts on behalf of the Institute. He supports education as an adjunct professor, teaching Sustainable Design at LIM College, and serves as a mentor to students at Pratt Institute and FIT, and members of LMNOP and IIDA.
